Prime Video’s God of War has added four more names to its growing live-action cast. Louis Cunningham, Ben Chapple, Evelyn Miller, and Island Austin are joining the series from Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, produced in association with PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions.

The new additions expand the show’s Norse family lineup in a big way. Cunningham will play Modi, Chapple will play Magni, Miller will play Gna, and Austin will play Thrud. With production underway in Vancouver, the adaptation continues to fill in more of the world around Kratos, Atreus, Odin, Thor, and Sif.

Thor and Sif’s Family Is Taking Shape

Three of the newly announced roles are directly tied to Thor and Sif. That gives the series a much clearer picture of that side of the Norse cast.

Louis Cunningham has signed on as series regular Modi, described as the middle child of Sif and Thor. Modi has a gentle disposition and a deeply curious mind. He also loves puzzles and complicated problems, which can make him lose sight of everything around him.

Ben Chapple will recur as Magni, Thor and Sif’s eldest son. Magni is described as handsome, adventurous, and highly protective of his younger brother Modi. The release also paints him as someone looking for a greater sense of purpose.

Island Austin has joined as series regular Thrud, the youngest child of Thor and Sif. Thrud is described as curious, fearless, gentle, and often the peace-maker in a troubled family. She also shares a close bond with Odin.

Together, these additions show that the series is doing more than filling out the main Kratos and Atreus journey. It is also putting real attention on the family around the gods they will face.

Odin’s Side Adds Another Important Figure

The fourth casting adds another key presence on Odin’s side of the story.

Evelyn Miller has signed on to recur as Gna, Odin’s Valkyrie commander. She is described as a fierce warrior with deep loyalty to Odin, to the point where that devotion can come at the expense of her own wellbeing.

Adding Gna alongside Modi, Magni, and Thrud broadens the adaptation in two ways at once. It strengthens Thor and Sif’s family circle, and it gives Odin another important figure inside his camp.

The Cast Keeps Growing Around Kratos and Atreus

These four join a cast that already includes Ryan Hurst as Kratos, Callum Vinson as Atreus, and, as recently announced, Ed Skrein as Baldur. The lineup also includes Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Jeff Gulka as Sindri, Danny Woodburn as Brok, and Mandy Patinkin as Odin.

Prime Video’s God of War is growing well beyond a small core cast. The show is steadily adding the wider family and power structure around the main story, which makes the scope of the adaptation easier to see with each casting wave.

The series follows Kratos and Atreus as they set out to spread the ashes of Kratos’ wife and Atreus’ mother, Faye. Along the way, Kratos tries to teach his son how to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human.

Ronald D. Moore is serving as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. Frederick E.O. Toye is set to direct the first two episodes.

No release window has been announced yet. Even so, with production underway and the cast filling out this quickly, the Prime Video adaptation is continuing to take shape.
