Genshin Impact Version Luna VII, "Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana," officially lands on May 20, 2026. While the Genshin Impact Version Luna V and Genshin Impact Version Luna VI updates kept you busy in Mondstadt, the story is finally shifting back to Sumeru for a massive new Archon Quest. The nation of wisdom is falling into unrest, and you’ll have some powerful new allies to help you sort out the mess.
Nicole Reeyn Debuts as the First Playable Hexenzirkel Member
All eyes are on Nicole Reeyn for the May 20 update because she’s the first playable member of the Hexenzirkel. Known as Mage "N," she’s a 5-star Pyro Catalyst wielder who functions as a support for your teams. Her Elemental Skill offers ATK bonuses to your party even when she is off the field, and it generates a shield to keep you upright. Her Elemental Burst summons an Arcane Projection that follows you around.
It triggers coordinated attacks based on your active element. I’m particularly interested in her treasure-hunting ability. When you use her Charged Attack, she calls a Seelie to guide you toward nearby chests. I highly recommend jumping into the interior of the Witch’s Lodge in her Meeting Point once it opens. New rooms and rewards will unlock there every week.

Sumeru Faces a New Crisis as Nahida Falls into a Slumber
Sumeru is teetering on the edge of a total breakdown. Nahida has fallen into an inexplicable sleep, and the nation is struggling under the weight of the crisis. A new enemy has appeared that resembles Il Dottore. You might remember defeating him in the past, but this adversary brings an unprecedented threat to the region.
Familiar allies like Collei, Ibis King Thoth, and Nicole are getting pulled into the fight as the conflict intensifies. If you complete this chapter during the limited-time period, you can grab 560 Primogems. You also unlock a formidable new Weekly Boss that can summon devastating forces.
Lohen and Prune Join the Version Luna VII Roster
Two other new faces are joining the roster alongside Nicole. Lohen is a 5-star Cryo Polearm wielder and serves as the Vice Captain of the Knights of Favonius' Fifth Company. He brings an aggressive combat style where you manage "Joy" and "Will to Win" resources to enter a Masterstroke state. Engage your teammates in battle to build his potential.
He is built to work especially well with other Hexerei characters. Then there’s Prune, a 4-star Anemo Catalyst wielder who calls herself a "Witch Hunter". Alice certified her for the role. She uses a bell and a giant hammer to trigger Swirl reactions across different elements.

New Events and Quality of Life Features in Version Luna VII
Nicole and Prune debut on May 20 in the first half banners alongside a Durin rerun. Lohen and Mavuika take over for the second half of the update. Klee’s Little Hexenzirkel event is also coming back. It features mini-games with Qiqi, Yaoyao, Sayu, and Prune. If you finish the event, you’ll unlock the "Super Awesome Magic Key" weapon appearance.
There’s also a sports festival in Miliastra Wonderland and a new "Guiding Notes" feature. These recaps help you catch up on the story if you’ve been away from the game for a while.

Version Luna VII represents a major pivot for the current story arc by returning to the deep lore of Sumeru. Having the first member of the Hexenzirkel finally join the playable roster alongside a new Archon Quest gives you a lot to look forward to when the update drops.
