| Genshin Impact Version Luna VI expands Mondstadt northward with new terrestrial areas and the floating Temple of Space. |
By Jon Scarr
It's time to head back to where it all began, but with a view we've never seen before. HoYoverse just pulled the curtain back on Genshin Impact Version Luna VI, and the move into northern Mondstadt is exactly what the region needed.
Launching on April 8, the update titled Song of the Welkin Moon: Rondo, Augured Homecoming pushes the borders of the wind kingdom further north while introducing a new fae character from Snezhnaya. After the return to familiar ground in Version Luna V, seeing the map actually grow in this direction is a move I've been waiting for.
Northern Mondstadt and the Temple of Space
The map growth in Version Luna VI takes you past the usual hills and into the fields packed with flowers leading toward Dornman Port. This isn't just a bit of extra coastline. You'll find an active shipping port and a new boss, Watcher: Fallen Vigil, waiting in the wilderness nearby. This expansion builds on the narrative flow started in Version Luna IV, connecting the northern regions more naturally.
The real change is looking up. Hovering high above the new land is the Temple of Space, a massive structure housing fragments created by Asmoday. Inside, you'll find different realms that pull inspiration from Liyue and Sumeru, mixed with other ancient civilizations. The temple introduces a specific interaction tool that lets you manipulate the space around you to find sealed paths and learn more about the Ruler of Space. It’s a clever way to revisit older themes while adding a new way to explore the sky.
Linnea Brings Geo Support and a Fae Friend
Linnea officially joins the playable roster as a 5-star Geo Bow wielder. She is a naturalist and advisor to the Adventurers' Guild, but her kit is where things get interesting for your team builds. She is built to support Lunar-Crystallize parties by converting Hydro-Crystallize reactions into the more powerful Lunar versions.
Her companion, Lumi, stays on the field to increase the damage you deal with those reactions while lowering the Geo resistance of anyone standing in the way. She can also provide off-field Geo damage or a burst of partywide healing depending on what the situation needs. If you are out exploring, Linnea even earns badges for her backpack when you find rare animals or nature spots.

Trade Expos and Free Characters in Nod-Krai
While Mondstadt gets the expansion, the action moves back to Nod-Krai for the seasonal event. The Voynich Guild is hosting a trade show, and you are invited to help resolve some conflicts between high-profile merchants.
The activities aren't just dialogue-heavy. You will get to use different inventions to coordinate aerial bombardments or test how fast you can react in a colour-coded shooter mode. Putting the effort into these challenges gives you the chance to recruit Jahoda for your roster for free.
The Event Wishes for the first phase feature Linnea and Chasca, with Nefer and Lauma taking over for the second half of the update. For those looking for Fontaine characters, a specific Chronicled Wish for that region is being held for the first time.
Genshin Impact Version Luna VI Launches April 8
Miliastra Wonderland is also getting a few useful changes, including an increase to the lobby capacity and a new editor for special effects. It’s a useful batch of quality-of-life updates that should make the crafting routine a lot easier for anyone building in that mode.
Genshin Impact Version Luna VI arrives on April 8 for PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and mobile devices. With the expansion of Mondstadt and the arrival of the Temple of Space, there is a lot of ground and sky to cover.
