| Uniqlo Canada's Super Mario Galaxy Movie UT collection arrives April 2 with eight graphic T-shirts for adults and kids. |
By Jon Scarr
I bought a couple of the Uniqlo UT shirts from The Super Mario Bros. Movie back in 2023, and I still wear them. That collection was good. This one looks better.
Uniqlo Canada is dropping eight Super Mario Galaxy Movie graphic T-shirts on April 2, 2026, timed to arrive right alongside the film's theatrical release. The collection is part of Uniqlo's UT line, the brand's ongoing graphic T-shirt program, and covers both adults and kids, with four designs in each range. Everything will be available in stores and online at launch.
Pricing is set at CA $29.90 for adult shirts and CA $19.90 for kids' shirts.
This is a collaboration between Nintendo, Illumination, and Uniqlo, with the designs built around the film's tone of action, humour, and heart. And based on what I've seen, the designs back that up completely.
Inside the Adult Collection
The four adult shirts cover a lot of ground in terms of design approach, which is actually one of the more interesting things about this collection. You're not just getting the same graphic in four different colours.
Double-Sided Designs
The white "Here We Go!" shirt is my pick for the one I'd reach for first. Mario launches forward through bold black lettering on the front, with Yoshi tucked into the upper corner and a small planet near Mario's hand. Flip it around and the back switches to "WHERE'S THE TROUBLE?" with a Question Block, Fire Flower, Yoshi Egg, Coin, Super Mushroom, and a Luma all floating above the text. Two genuinely strong graphics on one shirt is not something every collection pulls off, and this one does it without either side feeling like an afterthought.

The navy shirt is the other one I keep coming back to. The front reads "FOUND THE PROBLEM!" in bold white lettering, but several of the letters are swapped out for Mario icons. Yoshi eggs, a Fire Flower, a coin, and a Luma all sit in place of actual characters in the type. It rewards a closer look, which is exactly the kind of design work that separates a good UT drop from a great one. The back goes full cast with a wide panel graphic featuring Toad, Luigi, Yoshi, Mario mid-leap, and Bowser Jr. set against a galaxy backdrop, with the Super Mario Galaxy Movie logo worked into the panels and "MARIO TIME" in large white block letters below. That back graphic is the one that got me. It's the busiest design in the lineup and easily the most visually impressive piece in the whole collection.

Understated Options
The peach coloured shirt is my third pick. "YOU CAN COUNT ON ME, MARIO" sits in bold stacked white lettering across the chest, with Toad in a lively action pose to the right. The graphic stays contained rather than filling the whole front, which makes it one of the more wearable everyday options if you want something that doesn't immediately read as full fan merch. The warm peach colour works well with it too. Toad doesn't get enough love on licensed apparel, and this one gives him a proper moment.

The off-white shirt rounds out the adult lineup. A small diamond-shaped graphic on the left chest shows Yoshi sitting in a colourful town setting, rendered in the film's style. Two Yoshi eggs spill out below the patch onto the shirt itself. It's the kind of shirt that works for anyone who prefers something low-key, and the Yoshi patch detail is genuinely well done.

Inside the Kids' Collection
The kids' range pulls from the same design pool as the adult shirts but mixes things up in ways that make each one distinct. If you've got little ones, like I do, who are already Mario fans, there's something here for every age.
Front-and-Back Designs
The white kids' shirt leads with Mario and Luigi in a large, expressive character graphic, both brothers mid-action in the film's style. The back carries the "WHERE'S THE TROUBLE?" icon design from the adult white shirt. It's the most straightforward character tee in the kids' range and will probably be the first one younger fans reach for.

The navy kids' shirt uses the same graphics as the adult navy version but flips which design goes on which side, putting the full cast "MARIO TIME" panel graphic on the front and the "FOUND THE PROBLEM!" icon-embedded lettering on the back. For kids who want the big cast graphic up front, this is the one.

Single-Graphic Designs
The light blue shirt is the kids' take on the "Here We Go!" design. Mario soars through the bold lettering with Yoshi in the corner, same layout as the adult version but on a softer blue base that suits the younger range well.

The off-white kids' shirt is the most character-complete piece in the whole collection. The front has a chest pocket graphic with a Question Block and a coin popping up above it. The back is where it really opens up. Five diamond-shaped panels arranged in a circle each feature a different character, Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Peach, and Toad, all in expressive film-style poses. Below the panels, the text reads "WHERE'S THE TROUBLE? YOU CAN COUNT ON ME, MARIO!" pulling together both recurring phrases from the collection into one design. It's the one shirt that feels built specifically for kids who know the franchise well.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie UT Collection launches April 2 at Uniqlo Canada
The full collection goes live April 2, 2026 at Uniqlo Canada stores and online. You can see the complete lineup at the official collection page on Uniqlo's site.
The timing isn't a coincidence. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie hits theatres in early April, and Uniqlo's UT program has a track record of syncing apparel drops with major entertainment launches. If you're a fan who's already been eyeing the Cineplex merch or the Jakks Pacific toy lineup, the Uniqlo collection gives you one more way to mark the occasion. April 2 gives you a day to grab something before the weekend. I know I'll be there.

One of Each please and Thanks. 🤣
ReplyDeleteI’ll likely try to order the dark Navy one.
I know right?! I love these designs! I for sure want all of the adult ones. My wife is eyeing the kids ones for the kids too!
ReplyDeleteOooh these look great! And they have really nice quality t-shirts!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! UNIQLO shirts are always top quality and hold up very well.
