Canadian retailers are preparing launch events for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Nintendo Switch 2. EB Games Canada, PNP Games and Microplay have announced overnight events, joining Best Buy Canada's previously confirmed celebrations. This guide brings together the participating retailers, opening times and special activities across Canada.
EB Games has participating locations across all 10 provinces, but not every store is opening at midnight. Some British Columbia stores open at 10 p.m. on November 4, while Alberta and Saskatchewan locations open at 11 p.m. There are also special celebrations planned in Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg, including an appearance by Victor Lucas.
EB Games Sets Launch Times Across All 10 Provinces
EB Games Canada has launch-night openings planned at stores across the country. Its Toronto and Montreal flagship locations are hosting costume contests, trivia, photo opportunities and giveaways while supplies last.
The Toronto celebration takes place at 267 Yonge Street, home to Canada's first Nintendo store-within-a-store. I visited with my son for its October 17 opening. Seeing the huge wall display for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was one of my favourite parts. I said then that I'd happily return, and now the same store is hosting a midnight launch.
Montreal's flagship celebration takes place at Les Cours Mont-Royal, at 1455 Peel Street. Both flagship stores are scheduled to open at midnight on November 5.
Elsewhere, opening times vary by province. Here's a breakdown of EB Games' published schedules.

Ontario has dozens of participating locations, including Pickering Town Centre, Oshawa Centre, Scarborough Town Centre and Square One Shopping Centre. If midnight isn't an option, Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket opens at 6 a.m. on November 5.
EB Games' official launch directory lists each participating store's address, phone number and opening time. Check your location there before heading out.
PNP Games Hosts Winnipeg Launches With Victor Lucas
Winnipeg's PNP Games is celebrating The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time at all three retail locations. Each will hold a midnight launch at 12:01 a.m. on November 5, followed by an early opening at 8 a.m.
The participating stores are at 915 McLeod Avenue, 160 Meadowood Drive and 2609 Portage Avenue.
There's a familiar face joining the celebrations, too. Victor Lucas, creator of The Electric Playground and host of Reviews on the Run, will attend the Meadowood midnight launch.
Lucas received the inaugural Game Changer Award at the 2026 Canadian Game Awards in May. The honour recognized his decades of work in Canadian gaming. We covered the honour earlier this year, and now he'll be celebrating the game's launch with fans in Winnipeg.
He'll also visit all three stores during the day on November 5. The schedule lists 11 a.m. at McLeod Avenue, 2 p.m. at Meadowood Drive and 4:30 p.m. at Portage Avenue. Those times are subject to change.
PNP Games will have copies for preorders, online orders placed for local pickup and walk-up customers. 40th Anniversary controllers, consoles, and carrying cases will be available in extremely limited quantities.
Those special items will be sold first-come, first-served, with a limit of one special item per person.
Microplay Advertises Midnight Openings in Ontario
Microplay is advertising a midnight launch for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on November 5, with doors opening at 12 a.m.
Its Ontario storefront serves Microplay locations in Kitchener, Guelph and Brantford. The announcement doesn't specify which individual stores are participating, so contact your location before making plans.
Microplay Newmarket has separately advertised a midnight opening for the game. That store is at 16700 Bayview Avenue, Unit 31, in Newmarket, Ontario. It's also accepting preorders ahead of November 5.
Best Buy Canada Celebrates The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time at Nine Stores
Best Buy Canada is holding launch events at nine stores across the country on November 4 and 5.
Toronto's Bay & Dundas location is hosting the main celebration, with a Zelda cosplay contest, photo opportunities and giveaways. The other eight participating stores will also have photo opportunities, hot chocolate and snacks.
Best Buy Canada expects limited quantities of the Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition system at each event. The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition will also be available, while supplies last.
We've already covered all nine Best Buy Canada locations in our dedicated article, including opening times and purchasing conditions.
If you preordered online through Best Buy Canada, you can't collect that order during the events. Best Buy Canada will ship those orders instead.
Check Store Hours Before Heading Out
If you're planning to attend a launch for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, double-check your local store's hours. Some events begin on the evening of November 4. Others start at midnight or during the morning of November 5.
EB Games has a complete directory with store addresses and phone numbers. PNP Games, Microplay and Best Buy Canada have their own event details. Check the arrangements for the retailer you're visiting.
If you're hoping to buy anniversary-edition Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, check stock and purchase limits before travelling. Special merchandise and giveaways are limited, and conditions vary by retailer.
