Best Buy Canada has announced launch-night celebrations for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time at nine stores across Canada. The events take place November 4 and 5, with late-night shopping, giveaways, and limited quantities of the game and Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.

The Toronto Bay & Dundas location is hosting the main celebration, but eight more stores from British Columbia to Quebec are getting involved. You don't need a ticket to attend, and costumes are optional.

Toronto Hosts a Zelda Cosplay Contest and Special Giveaways

Toronto's Bay & Dundas Best Buy is holding a judged Zelda cosplay contest, with the winner announced at 11:15 p.m. ET on November 4. The prize includes a Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition console and a copy of Ocarina of Time. The store is scheduled to reopen at midnight ET on November 5.

The first 200 guests in line are eligible for a Zelda poster, while supplies last. There'll also be an Ocarina of Time photo experience, hot chocolate, and snacks. Toronto is the only participating location with the judged cosplay contest.

The other eight stores will have photo opportunities, hot chocolate, and snacks too. Each location is offering posters to the first 100 guests in line, while supplies last. Anyone waiting in line in costume can also enter a draw for a $100 Best Buy gift card.

The gift card draws are scheduled for 11:15 p.m. ET on November 4. Best Buy lists 10:15 p.m. for Alberta and 9:15 p.m. for British Columbia. Entrants have to be at the store when the winners are selected.

Already pre-ordered the game online? You can still join the celebrations, but you won't be able to collect that order at the event. Best Buy Canada is shipping online pre-orders to customers' addresses, with delivery possible as early as November 5.

Ocarina of Time launches on November 5 as a full Nintendo Switch 2 remake of the Nintendo 64 game.
