Inside the new area, visitors will find Nintendo Switch 2 hardware and software alongside demo systems where they can try games in the store. The playable game lineup hasn’t been announced yet.

Nintendo-themed displays, merchandise, and photo opportunities will also be part of the 1,500-square-foot area. The Nintendo space is permanent and will remain inside the Yonge Street flagship after opening day.

The Toronto space will also carry a selection of My Mario merchandise. EB Games says some items will be available exclusively in Canada through the Nintendo space, giving the Yonge Street location a merchandise selection that won’t be available at other Canadian retailers.

Ribbon Cutting Starts at 10 A.M. on October 17

The Nintendo space at EB Games officially opens Saturday, October 17 at 10 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the 267 Yonge Street flagship.

EB Games owner and CEO Stéphan Tétrault said physical retail still has an important role in bringing people together around the games they enjoy. He described the Nintendo space as the kind of retail experience EB Games wants to bring to customers, with a focus on Nintendo characters and franchises.

Nintendo of Canada Vice President and General Manager Susan Pennefather said Nintendo continues to look for new ways for people to experience its games and worlds. She described the Toronto concept as a place to explore what’s new, discover merchandise, and celebrate Nintendo characters.

EB Games Canada operates more than 170 stores across the country, but this permanent Nintendo space is for the 267 Yonge Street flagship. After opening day, the 1,500-square-foot Nintendo area will remain a permanent part of the store.
