Genshin Impact Version 7.2 Unites Seven Nations on November 4

By Jon Scarr

Genshin Impact Version 7.2, "Hour of Ruin," launches November 4, 2026, with a new Archon Quest that brings all seven nations of Teyvat together. The Holy Soil phenomenon threatens civilization, and the Tsaritsa has called representatives to Snezhnaya to confront the crisis.

The update also opens more of eastern Snezhnaya, including Novokitezhgrad, an underground city reached by railway. Two new playable characters, Mitya and Valeriy, join the roster with Electro abilities that strengthen Stellar-Conduct teams.

Seven Nations Unite Against the Holy Soil Crisis

Mysterious pillars of light begin appearing across Teyvat as energy fluctuations from the Nails of Retribution grow more violent. Each nation is dealing with the Holy Soil phenomenon, bringing their representatives together at the Tsaritsa's request.

The Traveler joins the Archons, Neuvillette, and other allies to confront the threat. Completing the new Archon Quest during the designated reward period grants 560 Primogems and character ascension materials for Mitya. Separate Secret Tsarist Assignments offer more rewards, including a Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider.

Eastern Snezhnaya Opens With a New Underground City

Snezhnaya first opened in Version 7.0 back in August. This time, the railway takes you farther east to Novokitezhgrad, an underground city encased in Kresnik Kristall. Beyond it, you can travel through the snow to Wingspan Peak and Old Kitezhgrad, Snezhnaya's first city.

To deal with contaminated Kresnik Kristall deposits, you can use new Prime Ice Constructs and two elemental shotguns. These hazards are part of the Holy Soil phenomenon unleashed by Ronova. A new World Boss from the ocean depths also awaits in Novokitezhgrad.

Two new Meeting Point quests follow separate investigations. Danica carries out a secret assignment for the Tsaritsa in Novokitezhgrad, while Mitya examines the soil near Teplo Oasis. Their paths are set to cross as both stories unfold.

Mitya and Valeriy Arrive With New Events and Rewards

Mitya is a 5-star Electro Catalyst character who converts the team's Superconduct reactions into Stellar-Conduct reactions. He also increases the party's Stellar-Conduct damage and accumulates special energy. His Elemental Skill can release that energy as periodic damage to nearby enemies or use it for a rapid series of enhanced Charged Attacks.

Mitya's detection device also helps uncover hidden paths in certain parts of Snezhnaya. There's even a reward that can change his appearance.

Valeriy, a 4-star Electro Sword character, provides shields and increases Electro damage, particularly in Stellar-Conduct teams. Both characters debut in the first Event Wish phase, alongside a Furina rerun. Zibai and Linnea return in phase two, which also features a Chronicled Wish with selected Natlan characters.

The new limited-time event continues the fight against the Holy Soil phenomenon. You can unlock it through the Archon Quest or use Quick Start to begin helping allies from across Teyvat. Objectives include rescuing wounded soldiers and relaying information, with Primogems, enhancement materials, and the chance to invite a 4-star character of your choice among the rewards.

There's also a filming event in Snezhnaya and a mining challenge in Natlan. Miliastra Wonderland receives a masquerade-themed lobby, a free 4-star cosmetic set, and more stage-editing options.

Genshin Impact Version 7.2 arrives November 4 on PlayStation 5, XBOX, PC, Android, and iOS, with cross-progression and co-op support. If you want the extra Archon Quest rewards, you'll need to finish the quest during its designated reward period.
