Genshin Impact Version 7.1, “A Rekviem for the Underworld,” launches September 23 and takes the Snezhnaya story toward a showdown with Ronova, the Ruler of Death. Vesna and Vodyanitsa join as new 5-star characters, while the Moonchase Festival returns to Liyue after five years.
Version 7.1 also marks Genshin Impact’s sixth anniversary. Complete the latest Archon Quest and you’ll be able to choose one event-exclusive 5-star character from a select lineup during the version, along with several other anniversary rewards.
Ronova Becomes a Weekly Boss in the New Archon Quest
The new Archon Quest finally brings you face-to-face with the Tsaritsa and explains more about why she has spent years collecting the Gnoses. Ronova has used her authority to hinder Snezhnaya’s plans, and Rhinedottir, the Ruler of Life, also enters the conflict.
You eventually head to the front lines against Ronova, who becomes a new Weekly Boss. Completing the Archon Quest grants 620 Primogems.
Version 7.1 also adds special assignments from the Tsaritsa’s Confidential Secretary. These smaller jobs take place around Snezhnaya and give you more insight into how the Tsaritsa governs the nation outside the main conflict.
Vesna and Vodyanitsa Bring New Stellar Swirl Options
Vesna is a 5-star Anemo Sword wielder and the youngest Commander in Druzhna history. She can turn Cryo Swirl reactions into Stellar Swirl reactions, summon Spirit Blades and build Sword Essence for her special Elemental Skill. She can also take flight during exploration.
Vodyanitsa is a 5-star Hydro Catalyst wielder and the Prima Donna of Snezhnograd’s Korolevskiy Troupe. In Water Imp form, her Elemental Skill continuously heals the active character, reduces enemy Hydro and Cryo RES and raises ATK. Her song can also lower Anemo RES and increase Stellar Swirl reaction damage.
Vesna and Vodyanitsa appear in the first phase of Version 7.1 Event Wishes. Skirk and Escoffier return in the second phase.
Moonchase Returns Alongside Sixth Anniversary Rewards
The Moonchase Festival returns to Liyue after five years, with Yilong Wharf transformed for the celebration. There’s also a mystery involving Zhongli and Zibai, three mini-games and a new 4-star Sword among the event rewards.
Snezhnaya gets a seasonal snowball activity, and Natlan gets a tournament prediction event built around 16 competing teams. Miliastra Wonderland is also receiving an autumn-themed lobby, a free cosmetic set and new editor controls for client-side scripting and collaborative editing.
For the sixth anniversary, completing the latest Archon Quest lets you choose one event-exclusive 5-star character from a select lineup during Version 7.1. You can also claim one standard 5-star character of your choice, 1,600 Primogems, 10 Intertwined Fates and additional anniversary rewards.
Genshin Impact Version 7.1 launches September 23 on PlayStation 5, XBOX, PC, Android and iOS with cross-progression and co-op support.
