Phantom Blade Zero pre-orders are live today, August 11, 2026, and we now know when its dedicated State of Play will take place. The gameplay deep dive airs August 17 at 10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT and will run for nearly 20 minutes.

S-Game had already confirmed that Phantom Blade Zero would get its own State of Play later this summer. Now we have the date and a better idea of what the presentation will cover. Expect a closer look at the combat, character builds and previously unseen characters.

Phantom Blade Zero State Of Play Airs August 17

The standalone State of Play will go deeper than the extended trailer released today. S-Game says the nearly 20-minute presentation will spend more time on the combat systems and the different builds you can create.

We'll also meet characters who haven't been shown before. The presentation streams through the official PlayStation YouTube and Twitch channels on August 17 at 10:00 p.m. ET.

I'm interested to see how much freedom those character builds actually offer. Nearly 20 minutes should be enough to see how different builds change the way combat plays.

Donnie Yen Has A Bigger Role In Phantom Blade Zero

Today's extended trailer also gives us another look at Donnie Yen, but his involvement goes beyond appearing in the game.

Yen has worked as a creative consultant on Phantom Blade Zero since 2023. S-Game says his martial arts and action filmmaking experience has contributed to the game's combat design.

He also provides facial and motion capture for Mó Yuan, the father of protagonist Soul. The new trailer includes combat aboard a speeding wagon and a fight against former comrade The Hunt.

Yen's martial arts and action filmmaking background is what interests me most. I'm curious to see how much of that carries into the way the fights move and flow.

Phantom Blade Zero Pre-Orders Are Live Today

Phantom Blade Zero launches October 29, 2026, and PS5 pre-orders are available starting today. The Standard Edition costs $79.99 CAD ($59.99 USD), while the Digital Deluxe Edition is $94.99 CAD ($69.99 USD).

Pre-ordering unlocks the Treasure Basin accessory and Legacy outfit early. Neither item is exclusive to pre-orders, though. Both can also be earned through normal in-game progression.

The nice part is that neither item is locked behind the pre-order. You can still earn both through normal progression if you wait until launch.

The August 17 presentation should tell us much more about how the combat and individual builds work before the October 29 launch.
