This week’s Nintendo Download is led by the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta on Nintendo Switch 2. It starts August 28 at 10 a.m. PT and runs through September 1 at 10 a.m. PT, giving Nintendo Switch 2 owners a chance to try a Campaign mission, multiplayer and earn Beta rewards before the game launches in October.
There’s plenty happening outside the beta too. ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, while METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2 is available now on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Orbitals is also coming up quickly, with the two-person co-op adventure launching September 3.
Nintendo Music gets some attention this week as well, including music from SimCity and more Mario Kart tracks. My Nintendo also has several new rewards and activities, including a The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild vinyl soundtrack sweepstakes.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta Starts August 28
Anyone with a Nintendo Switch 2 can take part in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta from August 28 at 10 a.m. PT through September 1 at 10 a.m. PT. The beta includes a playable Campaign mission, multiplayer modes and in-game Beta rewards.
Vault Edition operators and weapons are also available during the beta, even if you haven’t pre-ordered the game. Nintendo Switch Online membership and a Nintendo Account are required for online features.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23 on Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders are available now through Nintendo eShop.
ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition Arrives August 28
ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28. It includes ELDEN RING, the SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE expansion, new weapons, armour and a new appearance customization option for Torrent.
Pre-orders are available now through Nintendo eShop. That puts the base game and expansion together on Nintendo Switch 2 from August 28.
METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2 Is Available Now
METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2 is available now on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. The collection includes METAL GEAR SOLID 4: Guns of the Patriots and METAL GEAR SOLID: Peace Walker.
Both games also appear as separate Master Collection listings on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2.
Orbitals Pre-Orders Open Ahead of September 3
Orbitals launches September 3 on Nintendo Switch 2, with pre-orders available now through Nintendo eShop. Set in a retro anime-inspired universe, the two-person co-op adventure follows Maki and Omura as they head beyond the Storm Wall to save their home.
Communication and teamwork are central to the adventure. Additional accessories are required and sold separately.
Nintendo Music Adds SimCity and More Mario Kart Tracks
Nintendo Music now has a SimCity playlist featuring music from the Super NES game. Tracks include “Dr. Wright,” “Amusement Park” and “Megalopolis.”
The final wave of Free Roam tracks connected to Mario Kart World is also available. The Free Roam with Mario Kart 8 playlist includes “Mario Circuit (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe),” “Twisted Mansion (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe)” and “Super Bell Subway (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe).” Two bonus tracks were also added to the Mario Kart World track list.
Nintendo Music requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership, Nintendo Account and compatible smart device.
My Nintendo Adds a Zelda Vinyl Sweepstakes and New Rewards
The My Nintendo The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Vinyl Soundtrack Sweepstakes is open through November 16 at 11 p.m. PT. It’s available to eligible residents of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and Canada, excluding Quebec, who are 13 or older.
Each entry costs 10 Platinum Points. Five winners will each receive a limited-edition eight-LP The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild soundtrack box set featuring 130 specially mastered tracks on blue-and-gold splatter vinyl.
My Nintendo also has a Pokémon Pokopia notebook for 500 Platinum Points and a Star Fox collectible patch set for 400 Platinum Points. The Star Fox set includes one Fox McCloud patch and one Star Fox logo patch.
