It’s Thursday, and that means we have another batch of games and updates to check out on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Download for May 28, 2026 brings Call of Duty back to a Nintendo platform, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2.
We have a major shooter series making its return to Nintendo, a new action-adventure from the team behind Shovel Knight, and a Nintendo Switch Online trial for BALL x PIT. Whether you’re looking ahead to the next operation or planning something to play over the next few days, there’s plenty to browse this week.
Call of Duty is the attention-grabber, but Mina the Hollower is the one I’m watching right now. Yacht Club Games earned a lot of trust with Shovel Knight, and Mina also gives the eShop side something you can jump into right away. Let’s dig into the biggest games and updates hitting Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch this week.
Call Of Duty Returns To Nintendo Switch 2 With Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 heads to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23, 2026. The Nintendo Switch 2 version includes cross-play, cross-progression, and optional Joy-Con 2 mouse controls.
Modern Warfare 4 brings the parts you expect from Call of Duty, but Nintendo Switch 2 adds its own question with Joy-Con 2 mouse controls. The campaign sends you through New York, Korea, and Paris, Multiplayer covers the competitive side, and DMZ brings back the extraction mode built around deciding how much to grab before heading for the exit.
That’s where the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls become interesting. I’m not expecting them to replace a dedicated mouse, but I do want to see how they handle quick target changes, close-range fights, and those moments where leaving with your gear is smarter than staying for one more objective.

Mina The Hollower Brings Yacht Club Games Back To Action Adventure
Mina the Hollower launches May 29, 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. It’s the next game from the developers behind Shovel Knight, and it follows Mina, a Hollower trying to rescue a cursed island.
Mina can burrow under danger, slip into secret areas, and fight back with her whip. Sidearms and trinkets round out her toolset, while boss fights and strange characters give the island more to uncover.
Mina the Hollower has been on my radar for a while because Yacht Club Games has built plenty of goodwill after Shovel Knight. I’m especially curious about the burrowing because one move changes how Mina gets past danger and reaches hidden areas.
BALL x PIT Gets A Nintendo Switch Online Game Trial
BALL x PIT gets a free Game Trial for Nintendo Switch Online members. The trial begins May 28, 2026 at 10 a.m. PT and ends June 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
This is a survival roguelite where you break bricks, merge balls, and build up a base between attempts. If you buy the game during or after the trial, your save data carries over. Nintendo Switch Online members earn 100 My Nintendo Platinum Points by taking part.
By the end of that window, you should know whether its brick-breaking and base-building mix is for you.

Pictonico Turns Your Photos Into Mobile Minigames
Pictonico launches May 28, 2026 for compatible Android and iOS devices. It’s a free-to-start mobile game that turns your own photos into short minigames starring friends and family.
The free version lets you try a few games first, then additional volumes expand the collection up to 80 minigames. The activities move between simpler and trickier challenges, with photo-based twists involving carnival games, zombie attacks, costume changes, and other quick scenarios.
Pictonico depends heavily on the photos you use. With the right family pictures, the joke comes from seeing familiar faces dropped into strange situations.
Zelda Music And A New Tetris 99 Cup Hit Nintendo Switch Online
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds soundtrack is now on Nintendo Music. Tracks include “Meeting Princess Zelda,” “Princess Hilda Appears,” and “The Dark Palace.”
Tetris 99 is getting its 54th MAXIMUS CUP from May 29, 2026 at 12 a.m. PT to June 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Nintendo Switch Online members who collect 100 event points in online mode unlock a theme based on Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, with Tetrimino designs, event art, and music.
