It looks like HoYoverse is trading in the claymores from Genshin Impact and space stations of Honkai: Star Rail for something a bit more relaxing. The developer just announced that sign-ups are officially open for the Stardrift Test for its upcoming cozy galactic life sim, Petit Planet.

Beginning on April 21, this new round of testing for PC and mobile devices introduces new ways to connect with your surroundings and your fuzzy neighbours. If you want to move away from constant boss fights, this looks like a great way to relax in the Starsea.

Life in the Starsea as a Space Landlord

Being a Planet Tender basically means you are the landlord of your own floating rock in the Starsea. Instead of worrying about rent or repairs, you spend your time farming, fishing, beachcombing, and decorating your home exactly how you want it. It is all about taking your corner of the galaxy and making it look good while you hang out with your animal pals.

As your planet connects with others to form galaxies, new stories begin to unfold. You can let your imagination run wild as you decorate your home or shape your own stylish landscapes. The goal is to build a community where you can forge connections with both your environment and the people around you.

New Neighbours and Galactic Bazaar Vibe Checks

The Stardrift Test introduces several new additions to the game that were not in previous builds. New neighbours are making their debut, each bringing their own personalities and dreams to the world. You can invite these companions to settle on your planet, where you can engage in heartfelt conversations and share thoughtful gifts.

Exploration is also getting an update with the Starsea Voyage. You can now hop on vehicles with your neighbours to explore a variety of vibrant islets found on the Starsea Map.

When you aren't out exploring, the Galactic Bazaar serves as the main social hub where you can actually put those bonds with your neighbours to use. The Stardrift Test adds plenty of reasons to swing by, whether you want to grab a coffee by the bonfire, try your luck with a fortune-teller, or jump into an auction to bid on unique gear for your planet.

Petit Planet Stardrift Test Starts April 21

Sign-ups for the Stardrift Test are live right now on the official website. A selection of those who complete the sign-up survey will be invited to join the test when it starts on April 21.

The game is confirmed for PC, iOS, and Android, though Zenless Zone Zero developer HoYoverse has mentioned that additional platforms are currently in development. Pre-registering now also gives you the chance to claim exclusive rewards as the universe continues to grow.
