Nintendo has released a new trailer for Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, and it does a much better job showing what’s actually new in this Nintendo Switch 2 version. The new footage puts the focus on the Koopalings, the Super Flower Pot power-up, Dual Badges, Bellabel Water, and more of the added content arriving when the game launches on March 26.
That’s what makes this trailer useful. Earlier previews, including the earlier Nintendo Treehouse Live showing, had already put Bellabel Park, Rosalina, Co-Star Luma, and the multiplayer features on the radar. It also came up in this week’s Nintendo Download roundup. What this new trailer really clears up is whether Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park adds enough to make heading back feel worth it.
The Koopalings Push New Content Into the Main Game
The Koopalings are the biggest new addition in this trailer. All seven are now part of the package, with new boss courses spread throughout the Flower Kingdom. That changes the picture quite a bit. Up to now, a lot of the attention around Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park had been on Bellabel Park itself. The Koopalings show that this version is also adding new content directly into the main adventure.
Bellabel Park on its own was always going to raise the same question: is a new hub area enough reason to come back? New boss courses tied to the Koopalings give the package a much stronger answer. They add something new to play through in the core adventure, not just extra activities off to the side.
Super Flower Pot and Dual Badges Change the Upgrade Pitch
The trailer also gives the Super Flower Pot a proper introduction. This new power-up lets your character take on a flower form, extend jumps with a flutter, and launch large flowers upward to attack enemies. It’s strange in exactly the way you’d want from the Flower Kingdom, and it looks like a natural fit beside the weirder ideas that already helped define Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
Dual Badges could end up changing more than they first seem to. Being able to combine badge effects opens up more room to shape how you move through stages and tackle new content. That could end up being one of the most useful additions in the whole package, because it changes how you approach the game instead of only adding one more item or side feature.
Bellabel Park Looks More Built Out Now
Bellabel Park also makes more sense now than it did when it was first announced. You can earn Bellabel Water by playing attractions and clearing training courses, then use it to grow sprouts and bring more life to the park. That gives Bellabel Park a clearer loop. You’re not only dropping in for multiplayer attractions or quick side activities. You’re also building the area up over time.
That helps Bellabel Park feel more like a place you keep coming back to instead of a dressed-up menu. The more of this game I see, the easier it is to see that Nintendo wants Bellabel Park to work as a real hub for repeat play, whether you’re checking out attractions, working through training courses, or just messing around with friends and family.
This Looks Bigger Than a Small Add-On
The March 26 launch is also bringing the Elephant Mario, Poplin & Prince Florian, and Captain Toad & Talking Flower amiibo on the same day. Those figures tie into Bellabel Park by changing decorations and flower fields, while the Captain Toad & Talking Flower amiibo can also help during courses with power-ups.
This trailer makes the upgrade pack feel worth it. The Koopalings, the Super Flower Pot, Dual Badges, Bellabel Park’s added activities, and the amiibo support make this feel like a real expansion of Super Mario Bros. Wonder instead of a small extra.
