| Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition introduces Bellabel Park and new multiplayer features arriving March 26. |
By Jon Scarr
Today, Nintendo announced that Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park will launch on March 26. The announcement comes with a new overview trailer that breaks down what’s included in the update, as well as confirmation of three new amiibo and a Talking Flower accessory.
The trailer offers a clearer look at Bellabel Park, new multiplayer options, Assist Mode, and the content coming specifically to the Nintendo Switch 2 release.
Bellabel Park Adds New Multiplayer Activities
The new Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park trailer puts the spotlight on Bellabel Park, a new area built around multiplayer-focused activities. It’s designed as a hub where you can jump into different ways to play with friends, whether that means working together or competing against each other.
In Local Multiplayer Plaza, you’ll find 17 attractions that support both co-op and competitive play with up to four players on a single system. GameShare is also supported, so if one person owns the game, others can join in locally without needing their own copy.
Game Room Plaza expands things further with local wireless and online play. Here, up to 12 players can compete across six different attractions, each playing on their own system.

Training Challenges and New Assist Options
Bellabel Park also introduces the Toad Brigade Training Camp. These challenges are built around courses from the main game and gradually expand as you play, giving you more to tackle over time. Completing them lets you move up through the Toad Brigade ranks.
The Nintendo Switch 2 edition also adds Assist Mode. When it’s turned on, you won’t take damage, and falling into a pit won’t cost a life. Instead, a propeller flower brings you back into the action, making the game easier to jump into for newer or younger players.
Rosalina, Luma, and the Koopalings
Rosalina joins the roster in this version and can be used throughout the new content. Luma also appears as an assist character when two or more players are active, helping out by collecting coins and taking out enemies. On Nintendo Switch 2, Luma can even be controlled using mouse input.
The trailer also confirms that the seven Koopalings play a role in the new content. After stealing treasure from Bellabel Park, they scatter across different worlds, setting up new encounters as you track them down.

Upgrade Path and New amiibo
If you already own Super Mario Bros. Wonder on Nintendo Switch, you’ll be able to access the new content by purchasing an upgrade pack for Nintendo Switch 2.
Three new amiibo will also launch alongside the game on March 26:
- Elephant Mario
- Poplin & Prince Florian
- Captain Toad & Talking Flower
Nintendo has confirmed that the new amiibo can be used in Super Mario Bros. Wonder and the Nintendo Switch 2 edition to provide in-game assistance, similar to how amiibo have worked in past Mario titles. While specific effects haven’t been detailed yet, Nintendo says they offer helpful bonuses while playing rather than unlocking exclusive content.

Talking Flower Comes to Life Outside the Game
Alongside the game update, Nintendo is also bringing the Talking Flower into the real world as a physical item inspired by its in-game appearance.
The Talking Flower is designed as a small desk or shelf companion that speaks on its own, reacts when you press a button, and cycles through a variety of voice lines throughout the day. It can comment on the time, react to temperature changes, and even let you know when its batteries are running low.
According to the overview trailer, you can set it to speak at certain times, like in the morning or before bed, and it includes a music mode that plays a familiar tune with the flower chiming in when you interact with it.
It also supports multiple languages and can be set to stay quiet when you don’t want interruptions, making it more of a fun desk companion than something that’s constantly making noise.
The Talking Flower launches March 12 and will be available through My Nintendo Store, Nintendo NY, Nintendo San Francisco, and select retailers. Pre-orders are available now.
Back in the Flower Kingdom
With the release date now locked in, Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park is shaping up to be a great reason to jump back into the Flower Kingdom. Between the new multiplayer areas, Assist Mode, and the added ways to play together, it feels like a version that’s meant to be shared, whether that’s with friends or family.
The new amiibo and the Talking Flower help round things out in a fun way. They aren’t required, but they fit the tone of the game and add something extra if you enjoy collecting Mario items or having something playful on your desk.
March 26 is not far off, and based on what Nintendo has shown so far, this looks like a solid update for anyone planning to play or revisit Super Mario Bros. Wonder on Nintendo Switch 2.
