By Jon Scarr
Old Spice has officially pulled the curtain back on its full collaboration with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The result is a complete grooming line built around Mario’s trip through space.
Back in January, we covered the first signs of this partnership. Two aluminium-free deodorant sticks, Cosmic Quest and Desert Detour, quietly showed up at retail, along with early promotional images that hinted at more products.
Those early sightings are now confirmed as part of a much bigger collection. Multiple scents and product types now carry Super Mario Galaxy Movie branding.
The collection is tied directly to the upcoming film from Nintendo and Illumination, which is set to hit theatres on April 1, 2026.
Old Spice Super Mario Galaxy Movie Line Expands Beyond Deodorant
What started with a pair of deodorant listings is now a full range of grooming products. Old Spice’s Super Mario Galaxy Movie Collection is built to bring Mario’s new space adventure into your daily routine. The packaging puts the movie branding front and centre.
Instead of a single one-off item, Old Spice is treating this as a themed lineup. The two scents that first appeared online are still here. They now sit alongside three more, each with its own name, colour scheme, and flavour text.
You can pick the scent that matches your taste. Or you can grab a few different ones if you like to rotate products.
It also fits with how Nintendo tends to handle big movie pushes. We’ve already seen galaxy-themed cereal, toys, apparel, and other tie-ins announced for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. A full grooming set from Old Spice fits neatly into that same wave of everyday merch.
Five Galaxy-Themed Scents In The Collection
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie line is built around five scent names. Each one ties into different parts of Mario’s world and the idea of travelling between planets.
- Cosmic Quest – A cleaner, lighter scent built around watery notes, citrus, and a base of woods and musk.
- Desert Detour – Warmer and richer, with aged bourbon and black cherry notes. Orange peel sits over oak and vanilla.
- Castle Crush – A fruit-heavy approach that mixes pineapple, bergamot, grapefruit, peach, and mango. It adds jasmine, leafy greens, amber, coconut, and vanilla.
- Space Mischief – A more classic “marine plus citrus” direction, backed by melon and other modern cologne notes.
- Brooklyn Bounce – A bright mix of citrus and sun-hit florals on a musk base. It is pitched as a tropical morning in bottle form.
Each scent is tied to the same galaxy theme but goes after a different mood. One leans more traditional, another feels closer to dessert, and others sit in that middle ground between fruit, citrus, and wood.
Full Grooming Lineup Across Multiple Products
Old Spice isn’t limiting this collaboration to sticks alone. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie collection covers a full routine. Multiple formats carry the same scent names and movie branding:
- Aluminium-Free Deodorant Stick – Odour protection built for everyday use.
- Aluminium-Free Body Spray – A spray option for quick top-ups.
- Body Wash – A thicker wash that covers basic shower duty and carries the same scents.
- 2-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner – A combined hair product for anyone who prefers a single bottle in the shower.
- Hand, Face & Body Lotion For Men – A lighter lotion that is meant to lock in scent and keep skin from drying out.
The idea is simple. Pick a scent and you can build a full Mario Galaxy grooming setup around it. Or mix different scents across different products if you prefer variety.
It is the same Old Spice structure you see on regular shelves, just filtered through Nintendo’s latest movie.
Direct Tie-In To The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
This collection is directly linked to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the next animated film from Nintendo and Illumination.
The movie brings back the same creative team behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Producers Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri return alongside directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, screenwriter Matthew Fogel, and composer Brian Tyler.
Old Spice is using that setup to pitch the collection as a way to “smell like a hero.” The idea is to turn a regular shower into more of a Mario power-up moment.
The branding, scent names, and descriptions are built to match the idea of Mario travelling across different galaxies and locations in the film.
If you are already planning a theatre trip for April 1, this line is clearly aimed at being on store shelves and in washrooms at the same time. It gives the movie a longer tail beyond ticket sales and home release.
Availability, Pricing, And What Comes Next
Old Spice says the complete Super Mario Galaxy Movie Collection will be available at major retailers across the United States, with prices starting at US$7.97. Final pricing and exact availability will depend on each retailer, and there’s no detailed list of U.S. chains in the announcement.
In Canada, parts of the Super Mario Galaxy Movie line have already started to show up. Some products are listed at Walmart Canada, Amazon Canada, and Shoppers Drug Mart, with more scents and formats likely to follow as the rollout continues.
The full picture for Canada and other regions is still taking shape. As more listings go live, it will become clearer which scents and product types settle in as regular shelf stock and which ones stay closer to limited runs.
Old Spice is also pointing fans toward the Old Spice Fan Club, which is being used to offer “exclusive offers and prizes” tied to the collaboration. If you’re interested in chasing the full set or watching for bundles and limited deals, that is likely where contests and extra promos show up first.
For now, the big update is that the Old Spice Super Mario Galaxy Movie products first seen in listings are no longer a rumour. They’re part of a fully announced grooming line with five scents, multiple product types, and a clear link to the April 1 theatrical launch.
From here, it is really about how wide the rollout goes and how many of these cosmic bottles end up in local carts.
