The Game Awards 2025 was filled with big reveals, celebrity appearances, musical performances, and a packed awards slate. Hosted once again by Geoff Keighley, the show handed out awards while setting up plenty of “wait… what?” moments for what’s coming next. If you missed our earlier breakdown on how this year’s show streamed on Prime Video, you can check that out here.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 ended up being the story of the night, turning its big nomination count into a huge awards haul, including Game of the Year. A few other categories also landed in interesting places, especially when you line them up against fan favourites and community picks. We also included our own 4ScarrsGaming ballot selections so you can compare them with the final winners.

Players' Voice

How our 4ScarrsGaming votes stacked up

Now that the winners are locked in, our ballot ended up going 12-for-29 overall. Not perfect, but not a total disaster either. The biggest “called it” moments were Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 taking Game of the Year (and a bunch of other categories), plus a few picks like Hades II for Best Action Game and The Last of Us: Season 2 for Best Adaptation landing exactly where we had them.

The tougher calls were the categories where the show swerved hard. Best Audio Design going to Battlefield 6 caught me off guard, and Players’ Voice always feels like its own universe once the fan voting ramps up. Overall though, this was one of those years where one game really owned the night, and everything else felt like it was fighting for second place.

How did you do with your picks? Any winner you were surprised by, or one you felt should have gone the other way?
