The Game Awards 2025 Heads to Prime Video as Nominee Lineup Is Revealed

The Game Awards are almost here, and this year’s show is doing something brand new. For the first time, you’ll be able to stream the entire event live on Prime Video on December 11. If you already have a Prime membership, you’re good to go. The show will be available at no extra cost.

It all kicks off at 8 p.m. ET, broadcasting from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. And yeah, you can still watch it the usual ways, YouTube, Twitch, X and everywhere else. Prime Video is simply joining the list this year, giving gamers one more easy option to tune in.

Today also brought the big moment everyone waits for, the nomination reveal. We finally know which games made the cut for 2025, and the Game of the Year race looks stacked. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach lead the pack with a combined mountain of nominations, including spots in the GOTY category. Donkey Kong Bananza, Hades 2, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II round out the list, making the final six one of the most varied lineups in years.

Extras, Deals, and Reasons to Tune In

The Game Awards are also promising Twitch Drops again, so anyone watching at least 30 minutes on Twitch will get exclusive in-game bonuses and a limited-edition TGA chat badge. As the official retail partner, Amazon is also relaunching its dedicated Game Awards shop with special deals on games, hardware, and accessories running through December 31, plus Prime-exclusive offers that will roll out live during the show. Those flash deals will only run for a few hours at a time, so it might be worth keeping a second screen handy.

On top of the awards, you can expect the usual mix of world premieres, surprise announcements, live music, and a few “wait… did that really just happen?” moments. If last year’s 154 million livestreams are any indication, this one’s going to be huge.
