EB Games Canada has released the first photos of its new Nintendo store-within-a-store in downtown Toronto, one day before opening. The 1,500-square-foot space is inside the retailer's flagship store at 267 Yonge Street. EB Games Canada describes it as Nintendo's first store-within-a-store in North America. The photos feature Nintendo Switch 2 demos, themed displays, and shelves of merchandise with familiar Nintendo characters.
The Nintendo space opens Saturday, October 17, at 10 AM ET with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. EB Games Canada has also confirmed two opening-day Nintendo eShop gift card promotions for qualifying purchases.
Mario, Nintendo Switch 2 and Merchandise Fill the New Space
Mario emerging from a green pipe is the centrepiece of the new Nintendo area. Bright red Nintendo Switch 2 counters and game displays sit nearby, with demo stations along one side of the space. There's a lot to look at before you even reach the merchandise wall.
One side of the space is filled with Nintendo merchandise. The photos feature shelves of plush toys, including Pikachu, Kirby, Snorlax, Mario and other familiar characters. There's also a dedicated Zelda display, with Nintendo Switch 2 products arranged in front of it. Bright red walls and illuminated displays frame the game and merchandise sections.
You can try Nintendo Switch 2 games at the demo stations during your visit. EB Games Canada hasn't confirmed which games will be playable on opening day. If you're hoping to try a particular game, keep that in mind.
If you're checking out the merchandise, look for the My Mario Mario & Friends Wood Block set. EB Games Canada says it's exclusive to this Nintendo space, alongside a selection of other My Mario items.
EB Games Canada says the space will evolve alongside Nintendo's future releases, though it hasn't announced specific updates yet.
Opening-Day Nintendo eShop Gift Card Offers Confirmed
If you're visiting on opening day, there are two Nintendo eShop gift card offers to know about. Both apply to purchases made at the Yonge & Dundas location, not other EB Games Canada stores.
Customers who purchase $200 or more in Nintendo products will receive one $50 Nintendo eShop gift card. Anyone purchasing a Nintendo Switch 2 system will receive two $50 Nintendo eShop gift cards, totalling $100 in eShop credit.
Both promotions are valid only on October 17 at the EB Games Yonge & Dundas store. They're available for in-store purchases only, not online, and while supplies last. EB Games Canada hasn't said whether the two offers can be combined.
