In today's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced Metroid Ravenous and Kirby and the World Beyond for Nintendo Switch 2. Final Fantasy VII Revelation and Persona 6 were also part of the show.
Metroid Ravenous launches January 28, 2027 as a new 2D Metroid adventure. Kirby and the World Beyond arrives in spring 2027 as a new 3D Kirby game.
The Direct also confirmed new Nintendo Switch 2 editions of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and Pikmin 4. Monster Hunter Wilds, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, new Mario Kart World content, and dozens of other release dates and updates were also featured.
The presentation followed yesterday's The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct. It marked the first time Nintendo has held Direct presentations on two consecutive days.
Metroid Ravenous Brings Samus Back for a New 2D Adventure
Metroid Ravenous is the latest game in the 2D Metroid series, and Nintendo's first footage puts Samus in a rough spot.
After an unknown group attacks her, Samus wakes up stranded on a moon with little chance of escape. Nintendo also teased an ability that appears to drain energy from enemies, tying into the game's "eat or be eaten" theme. Beyond those early clues, Nintendo isn't saying much about where Ravenous fits into Samus' story yet.
Metroid Ravenous launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on January 28, 2027. Individual Samus and Chozo Statue amiibo arrive the same day. A third Samus (Metroid Suit) amiibo is bundled with a Special Edition that also includes the game and a steel game case.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation Concludes the Remake Trilogy April 8
Square Enix opened the Direct's headline announcements with Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final game in the Final Fantasy VII remake project.
Cloud and his companions take to the skies aboard the Highwind as they try to stop Meteor and Sephiroth. The airship opens up a much larger world to explore as the remake trilogy moves toward its conclusion. Final Fantasy VII Revelation launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on April 8, 2027.
Crisis Core –Final Fantasy VII– Reunion is also available on Nintendo Switch 2 today. The Switch 2 version refreshes the visuals and combat, adds full voice work and includes a rearranged score.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Gets a Definitive Edition
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is getting another run on Nintendo Switch 2 with a Definitive Edition launching February 25, 2027.
The new version improves the visuals and frame rate while putting more enemies on screen during battles. It includes all content from the original Expansion Pass and adds Calamity Mode, a tougher difficulty setting.
If you already own the Nintendo Switch version, your existing save data can be transferred. Nintendo is also offering a discounted digital path to the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
Pikmin 4 Adds Dandori Academy and Voice Commands
Pikmin 4 gets a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition on November 12, with features built around the newer hardware.
You can give voice commands to Oatchi using the Nintendo Switch 2 microphone. That includes directing him where to go and praising him when he does something well. During the Direct, Oatchi responded immediately as commands were spoken.
Dandori Academy adds a new set of challenges built around planning routes and collecting treasure as quickly as possible. There are three difficulty levels, and medals are awarded based on your performance.
Weekly exams take place Friday through Sunday, and you only get one attempt. Nintendo plans to release 72 Dandori Academy stages over time. You can also compare scores with friends and others around the world. Anyone who already owns Pikmin 4 on Nintendo Switch will have an upgrade-pack option.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Opens Up Wuhu Island
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort lets you freely explore Wuhu Island outside its 12 sports.
You can chase dolphins in the ocean, find hidden hibiscus flowers and collect Spocco Photos. Those photos reveal information about sightseeing locations around the island.
Island Crown is another new addition. The offline mode has you climb the rankings in each sport before facing Island Champions and, eventually, the Island Legends. Playing sports also earns Spocco Points that can be exchanged for customization items for your Mii character or Sportsmate.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22.
Persona 6 and Persona 4 Revival Come to Nintendo Switch 2
Persona 6 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, while Persona 4 Revival arrives on the system May 20, 2027.
Persona 6 starts a completely new standalone story with a new cast. It keeps the series' mix of everyday life, relationships and supernatural adventure. ATLUS hasn't announced a release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version yet.
Persona 4 Revival is a remake of Persona 4, returning to Inaba and the Investigation Team's search for the truth behind murders connected to the Midnight Channel.
Separate from the Direct, ATLUS also confirmed Metaphor: ReFantazio for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12.
Monster Hunter Wilds Comes to Nintendo Switch 2 December 4
Capcom is bringing Monster Hunter Wilds to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4.
The Nintendo Switch 2 release includes the Title Update content released so far. That includes the Grand Hub, Mizutsune, Lagiacrus and the Final Fantasy XIV Online collaboration. Local wireless play is supported, along with full cross-platform online multiplayer.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. Nintendo only teased the expansion during the Direct, with more information coming later.
Mario Kart World, Star Fox and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Get New Content
Mario Kart World has a same-day update with 10 courses based on Super Mario Kart. Choco Island, Vanilla Lake, Ghost Valley and the other classic courses can now be played as standalone VS Race tracks. The classic ? Panels return on these courses too.
Two new Knockout Tour routes, Propeller Rally and Turnip Rally, are part of the update. Nintendo also added Spectator Mode for online play with friends and LAN Play.
Star Fox gets a free update on September 29 that expands Battle Mode for up to four people on one Nintendo Switch 2. Four people can also form a team and head into online battles together. Three new stages take the action to Katina, Sector X and Venom.
Star Fox Adventures joins Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics today for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches December 3 with a new mode called Heroes' Vault. You fight through waves of enemies, then strengthen your group between battles before facing a final opponent.
A new Hero named Shimmer also joins the game. She's an attacker built around rapid-fire combos and powerful strikes, and her Foresight ability lets her see into the future.
Tomb Raider Gets a February Date as Mega Man and Resident Evil Join the Lineup
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on February 12, 2027. The game rebuilds Lara Croft's original 1996 adventure around her search for the pieces of the Scion. Her journey takes her from Peru to Greece and Egypt.
Mega Man: Dual Override arrives in spring 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Proto Man joins Mega Man as a playable character, bringing his shield-based fighting style alongside Mega Man's ranged attacks. Custom Chips can be combined for additional abilities, while Override forms give both characters a more powerful state against bosses.
Mega Man and Proto Man amiibo launch alongside the game.
Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition all arrive digitally on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16. Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition include additional content from their previous releases.
The Witcher 3, Fire Emblem and More Get Switch 2 Dates
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 29. It includes visual, performance and gameplay improvements, along with gyro aiming, Joy-Con 2 mouse controls and touch-screen support. Nintendo Switch owners can upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 version for free. A new paid expansion called Songs of the Past follows in 2027.
Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17. Professor Layton and the New World of Steam arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on December 10. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight follows on September 18 with open-world Gotham City exploration and local two-person co-op.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Royal Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. It includes the base game, premium story expansions, additional gear and a bonus questline.
MECCHA CHAMELEON is available on Nintendo Switch 2 today. The competitive hide-and-seek game has you paint your character to blend into walls, furniture and other objects while the opposing side searches for you.
Onyx, Eternal Anima and Danganronpa 2x2 Head Into 2027
Onyx: The Dark Grip is a new 2.5D supernatural horror game from Bloober Team arriving exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. You control a mysterious Entity that interferes with the world around a traveller named Holden.
Your touch-screen actions affect Holden's world directly, but he experiences them as something supernatural. The more you interfere, the harder it becomes for him to hold onto reality.
Stage Fright, from the creators of Overcooked, is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch in 2027. The two-person adventure mixes escape-room puzzles with exploration and supports local and online co-op.
Eternal Anima launches March 4, 2027. The time-travel RPG follows Wade as he inherits abilities from heroes of the past and uses powers such as Future Sight during turn-based battles.
Danganronpa 2x2 launches January 14, 2027. It includes the original Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair scenario alongside a new story using the same setting and characters. That new route changes the victims, culprits and events.
Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United is a full 3D remake arriving February 16, 2027. Yu-Gi-Oh! TAG FORCE GX arrives the same day.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves comes to Nintendo Switch 2 digitally on October 22, with a physical version following in January 2027. Metal Slug Ultimate Collection brings together 10 games on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch in 2027.
Cairn is due in early 2027, with a free Nintendo Switch 2 demo available today. Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2 arrives later in 2026 with new accessories and customization options.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Keepsake Sea follows this November. Ondeh Ondeh Kaya's Tasty Tale is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
Kirby Air Riders completes its amiibo lineup on November 12 with Sword Kirby & Dragoon and Noir Dedede & Hydra. Nintendo also teased an in-game event with rewards and refreshed looks for the main menu and Paddock.
Yo-kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 with enhanced visuals, new story content and additional Yo-kai. Nintendo hasn't announced a release date yet.
007 First Light, Stellar Blade and More Appear in the Closing Montage
Nintendo closed the presentation with a quick run through more Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games.

- The Ascent Ultimate Edition arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 in December with the base game, all DLC and Joy-Con 2 mouse controls.
- The Apothecary Diaries: The False Imperial Brother comes to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch in early 2027.
- Bluey's Happy Snaps arrives on both systems October 15.
- The Crew Motorfest comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8.
- Dragon Quest Heroes: Torneko's Mystery Dungeon -Classic HD- is available today on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
- Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World has a demo available today, with the full game arriving on both systems December 3.
- Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream launches December 3 on Nintendo Switch 2.
- Fading Echo launches September 17 on Nintendo Switch 2, with a demo available today.
- Far Cry 3 Classic Edition and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 in spring 2027.

The physical version contains the full game on the cartridge, with no game-key card or additional download required to play. A Limited Edition SteelBook with exclusive new key art is also available to pre-order through participating retailers and Panax in strictly limited quantities.
Kirby and the World Beyond Closes the Nintendo Direct
Kirby and the World Beyond was Nintendo's final announcement.
The new Nintendo Switch 2 game is a 3D adventure built around freely exploring a larger world while using Kirby's Copy Abilities. Nintendo isn't revealing much more about the setting or structure yet, but it confirmed a spring 2027 launch.
The timing also puts Kirby and the World Beyond inside the Kirby series' 35th anniversary year. Nintendo says more information about the anniversary and the game will be shared later.
