LEGO has announced its first-ever PlayStation set, a 1,911-piece near 1:1 scale recreation of the original grey console and controller. LEGO PlayStation (72306) launches October 4, 2026 for $249.99 CAD / US$179.99, with LEGO Insiders Early Access beginning October 1.
The 18+ display set includes functional Open and Power buttons, a controller that plugs into the front, and two removable game dioramas based on Gran Turismo and Ape Escape.
LEGO Recreates the Original PlayStation at Near 1:1 Scale
Once assembled, the brick-built console measures more than 6 cm high, 26 cm wide, and 19 cm deep. The controller recreates the original PlayStation controller and plugs into the front of the model.
LEGO also built moving Open and Power buttons into the console. The buttons move, but the set remains a display model rather than a working game console.
The set contains 1,911 pieces and is rated 18+. Its near full-size dimensions recreate the proportions of the original PlayStation in brick-built form.
Gran Turismo and Ape Escape Are Hidden Inside
Inside the console are two removable dioramas based on games from the original PlayStation era. Gran Turismo gets a miniature track with small race cars. Ape Escape gets an island scene with a swappable red or blue light on the monkey's helmet.
Both dioramas can remain concealed inside the model or sit beside it on display. Gran Turismo originally released in 1997, and Ape Escape followed in 1999.
The hidden scenes give you something extra to discover after building the console and controller. They also connect the model directly to two games released for the original PlayStation.
LEGO PlayStation Launches This October
LEGO PlayStation was first shown during PlayStation's State of Play on September 3rd. PlayStation Direct will sell the set from October 1 in the U.S. and several European countries, but Canada isn't included in that direct-sales list.
LEGO Insiders Early Access begins October 1. General availability follows October 4 through LEGO.ca, LEGO Stores, and select retailers. The set costs $249.99 CAD / US$179.99.
