PlayStation has announced two State of Play broadcasts for September 3. State of Play and State of Play Japan will air back-to-back starting at 9:00 AM ET / 6:00 AM PT. The first presentation will feature updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners. It will close with an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
Once the first broadcast ends, State of Play Japan will begin immediately after it. Hosted again by Yuki Kaji, the second presentation will focus on upcoming games from studios in Japan and Asia. PlayStation has confirmed new gameplay and announcements for the show.
Both broadcasts will stream live on PlayStation's official YouTube and Twitch channels. State of Play will air in English with Japanese subtitles. State of Play Japan will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation Closes The First State Of Play
The only game PlayStation named for the first presentation is Final Fantasy VII Revelation. It is the third and final entry in Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Remake series.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation was announced in June and is scheduled to launch in Spring 2027. It is coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, XBOX Series X|S, and PC. Square Enix recently showed more of the game during gamescom Opening Night Live. That trailer featured the Weapons, new gameplay footage, and more of the game's open-world traversal.
PlayStation hasn't detailed what the September 3 extended look will include or how long the segment will run. The rest of the first State of Play lineup also remains unannounced.
State Of Play Japan Follows With Its Own Gameplay And Announcements
The second presentation is a separate State of Play Japan, not a Japan-focused section inside the first broadcast. Yuki Kaji returns as host.
PlayStation says the show will take a closer look at upcoming games from studios in Japan and Asia. New gameplay and announcements are confirmed, but the games themselves haven't been named.
That distinction is important because September 3 isn't one long State of Play. It's two separate PlayStation broadcasts running one after the other.
The Back-To-Back State Of Play Broadcasts Start At 9:00 AM ET
The first State of Play begins September 3 at 9:00 AM ET / 6:00 AM PT. That's 3:00 PM CEST / 10:00 PM JST. State of Play Japan follows immediately after the first broadcast.
PlayStation hasn't announced runtimes for either presentation or revealed the rest of the game lineup. With Final Fantasy VII Revelation confirmed for the first show, almost everything else remains under wraps until September 3.
