I still wear the Uniqlo UT shirts I bought from The Super Mario Bros. Movie collection in 2023, and the Super Mario Galaxy Movie UT lineup earlier this year was another good reminder of why these drops work so well. When Uniqlo gets a Nintendo collection right, it feels like proper everyday clothing first and fan merch second.
That’s what has me interested in the Mario Kart World UT collection. Uniqlo Canada has launched the new lineup, with adult graphic T-shirts, kids graphic T-shirts, and kids hoodies based on Nintendo’s latest Mario Kart game.
The collection includes four adult shirts, four kids shirts, and four kids hoodies. Adult shirts are priced at CA $29.90, kids shirts are CA $19.90, and kids hoodies are CA $34.90. The collection is available now through Uniqlo Canada online and in stores.
Mario Kart World is a natural fit for UT. The game’s bigger road-trip racing setup gives the collection more room to play with racing decals, travel-style graphics, character art, and fake in-world brands. Based on the full lineup, this isn’t just one graphic repeated across different colours.
Inside the Adult Mario Kart World UT Collection
The adult range includes four graphic T-shirts, and each one takes a different approach. There’s a loud back graphic, a newspaper-style Grand Prix design, a sharper racing stripe shirt, and a dark green pocket tee that hides most of its Mario Kart personality on the back.
The black adult shirt keeps things simple from the front, with a small white Mario Kart World logo on the left chest. Turn it around and the back becomes one of the busiest designs in the adult lineup, with Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Princess Peach, Toad, and familiar Mario Kart items packed into a bright race scene. It’s the shirt for someone who wants the cleaner everyday look up front but still wants the full Mario Kart graphic on the back.
The first white shirt takes a different route with a newspaper-style front graphic. “WORLD-CLASS GRAND PRIX HIGHLIGHTS” sits across the top, with a desert road scene in the middle, Mario standing beside a green kart, and Lakitu holding a checkered flag near the corner. It feels less like a standard character tee and more like a souvenir from a Mario Kart road trip, which fits Mario Kart World nicely.
The other white adult shirt leans harder into the racing side of the game. The graphic uses mostly black-and-white character art, with Luigi, Bowser, and Mario crossing through the design at different angles. A bright orange stripe runs across the front with small Mario Kart World text inside it, giving the shirt a sharper motorsport feel than the more colourful pieces in the lineup.
The dark green adult shirt might be the most quietly clever design in the adult range. The front has a chest pocket with a small yellow “HAVE A NICE DRIVE!” patch, keeping the shirt simple from a distance. The back flips that around with a full spread of Mario Kart World-style decals and fake in-universe brands, including Squid Motor Oil, Bowser Motors, 1-Up Fuel, Banana Natural Oil, Moo Moo Milk, Thwomp Construction, and Fuzzy Batteries. It feels like something pulled from the garages, roadside stops, and racing culture of Mario Kart World rather than a standard character shirt.
Kids T-Shirts Bring Bigger Colour And Character Energy
The kids T-shirt lineup also includes four designs, and these feel a little brighter and more direct than the adult range. That makes sense. The adult shirts spend more time on subtle front graphics and back prints, while the kids shirts push the characters and colours harder.
The white kids shirt keeps the front simple with a small Mario Kart World logo on the chest, then saves the big graphic for the back. Mario sits in the centre of the race scene, with Luigi, Bowser, Princess Peach, and Toad surrounding him across a wide background that moves from desert roads to a coastal track. It’s the most straightforward main cast kids shirt in the set.
The orange kids shirt is the loudest design in the kids T-shirt range. “KNOCKOUT TOUR” sits in big white lettering behind Mario and Bowser, with Mario racing forward and Bowser charging in behind him with a Red Shell raised overhead. The orange shirt colour makes the whole design feel brighter and more energetic. If the white kids shirt is the full-cast race scene, this is the head-to-head Mario and Bowser option.
The black kids shirt is the Yoshi-focused design in the T-shirt lineup. The front uses a layered postcard and sticker-style graphic, with Yoshi appearing in multiple spots across the design, Mario showing up in a smaller “Here we go!” image on the right, and Hammer Bro. appearing near the top of the collage. It also mixes in fake Mario Kart World branding like Super Leaf, Stingby Biofuel, Squid Motor Oil, and Roy Smooth Sounds. It has the same in-world road-trip feel as the dark green adult shirt, but with more colour and a stronger Yoshi focus.
The yellow kids shirt is the Donkey Kong design, and it has one of the funniest front-and-back setups in the kids range. The front uses stacked “GET YOUR DASH FOOD!” text with a small Dash Food bag graphic, keeping things simple at first glance. The back brings in the bigger joke, with Donkey Kong racing in a DK kart while holding a burger, with Toad and a Goomba nearby. It feels playful in a way that fits Mario Kart World’s road-trip energy without turning the whole shirt into a full-cast design.
Kids Hoodies Add Warmer Mario Kart World Designs
The kids hoodie lineup brings some of the same design ideas into warmer pieces. There are four hoodies in total, and they don’t all reuse the kids T-shirt artwork directly.
The dark green kids hoodie brings back the same decal-style idea from the adult shirt, but puts the full design on the front. The graphic is made up of Mario Kart World-style stickers and fake in-universe brands, including Squid Motor Oil, Bowser Motors, 1-Up Fuel, Banana Natural Oil, Moo Moo Milk, Thwomp Construction, and Fuzzy Batteries. It gives the hoodie that same road-trip and pit-stop personality, just in a warmer piece for kids.
The navy kids hoodie goes with one of the cleanest designs in the hoodie lineup. The front shows four Mario Kart shells across the chest, red, blue, yellow, and green, with “Which one will you choose?” underneath. The back adds the action, with Luigi racing in a green kart while Bowser charges alongside him with a Red Shell raised overhead. It’s a smart split because the front works as a small item-choice joke, while the back brings in the bigger race graphic.
The off-white kids hoodie is the most classic Mario Kart design in the hoodie range. “DRIFT TO VICTORY!” runs across the front in bold black text, with three panel graphics underneath featuring Mario, Yoshi, and Luigi. It’s brighter and more direct than the navy and dark green hoodies, and it feels like the easiest hoodie design to understand at a glance.
The light gray kids hoodie is the full-cast option in the hoodie lineup. Mario sits in the centre of the race scene, with Luigi, Bowser, Princess Peach, and Toad surrounding him. It uses the same kind of big character energy as the white kids T-shirt, but keeps the full graphic on the front of the hoodie.

The Mario Kart World UT collection is available now at Uniqlo Canada, with adult shirts, kids shirts, and kids hoodies available online and in stores.
For me, the adult dark green shirt and the black full-back graphic shirt are the ones I keep coming back to. For kids, the orange Mario and Bowser shirt and the light gray hoodie feel like the easiest ones to recommend. What I like most, though, is that the collection doesn’t feel like one idea stretched across twelve pieces. It actually uses Mario Kart World’s racing, travel, food, item, and roadside ideas in different ways.
That’s what makes a Uniqlo UT Nintendo collection fun to write about. You can look at the whole lineup and still find small details tucked into individual designs. I know I’ll be checking this one out now that it’s live in Canada.
