If you've been sitting on the fence about picking up a Nintendo Switch 2, your window for a deal is closing fast. Starting in early June, participating retailers are offering the Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle for $699.99 CAD ($499.99 USD). While that price matches the upcoming MSRP, you’ve got to check the calendar.

The price of the Nintendo Switch 2 is officially jumping from $629.99 CAD ($449.99 USD) to $679.99 CAD ($499.99 USD) on September 1, 2026. The Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle lets you beat the Sept 1st price hike by grabbing the Nintendo Switch 2 and a major first-party game and save money.

The bundle packs in a Nintendo Switch 2 and a digital download code for your choice of one of the three best Nintendo Switch 2 games. You’re looking at a $39.99 CAD ($29.99 USD) savings compared to buying everything separately right now. Grabbing the Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle this summer is the most affordable entry point we're going to see for the rest of the year.

Mario Kart World goes big with connected racing environments

Mario Kart World is the heaviest hitter you can pick. It’s a massive step up from the cup-based menus of the past. Instead of just picking a track, you’re hitting the open road across a vast interconnected world where different courses flow into each other without a loading screen. I took a drift from the urban circuit straight into the coastal mountain pass. The scale is genuinely impressive when you’re exploring at your own pace.

The game uses the new Joy-Con 2 features to make the racing feel more responsive during tight cornering. I recommend jumping into the settings to test the new mouse control functionality on the map screen. It makes navigating the world much faster. If you’re playing online, the GameChat feature lets you talk to your friends directly through the hardware while you're trading shells and fighting for the lead. It’s the safest pick for anyone who wants a game that will stay in the rotation for years.

Donkey Kong Bananza turns the world into a playground

If you'd rather destroy things than race them, Donkey Kong Bananza features ground-breaking exploration that’s all about brute force. You play as Donkey Kong and Pauline, using fists to carve tunnels and destroy layer after layer of the environment. Pauline’s singing isn't just a side activity. It empowers DK with Bananza Transformations that give you unique powers to smash through reinforced walls or swing huge chunks of terrain.

The subterranean world DK and Pauline delve into is way deeper than it looks from the surface levels. I found myself tearing off a massive rock to throw at a group of enemies, only to realize the destruction opened up a path to a hidden cave system I'd completely missed. It’s a great showcase for what the hardware can do when it isn't held back by older tech.

Exploration isn't a suggestion in Donkey Kong Bananza. You're literally tearing up the floor to find what's hidden underneath.

Pokémon Pokopia is a Ditto-led life sim

Pokémon Pokopia is an engaging life sim where you don't even play as a trainer. You’re a Ditto that’s transformed to look like a human. You’re trying to restore a withered world using your transformation skills and new crafting abilities. It’s a relaxed game focused on building, crafting, and befriending various Pokémon to help your empty land grow into a thriving community.

It’s an open land brimming with possibilities. The building systems are deep enough to keep you busy for a long time. I spent hours just organizing my village and seeing which new Pokémon would move in next. I recommend this one if you’re looking for something relaxed to play after a long day. It’s the wildcard of the bundle. Being a Ditto gives the whole experience a personality you won't find in the other two games.
