| Community-created Maker Packs and Kits are now accessible directly from the console versions of The Sims 4. |
The Sims 4 Marketplace is officially available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox starting today, April 16, 2026. You don't have to wait for the PC crowd to have all the fun with community-created content anymore. It’s been a long road to get here, but console parity is finally a reality following our previous coverage of The Sims 4 Marketplace & Maker Program news.
This launch brings Maker Packs and Kits directly into your console experience, which is a significant step when joining an ecosystem, letting you browse and download new styles or builds without ever closing your session.
Maker Packs and The Sims 4 Marketplace on Consoles
It's a massive relief that you can grab these packs and see them in-game without the usual loading screen headache. When you find a Maker Pack you like, you can buy and download it right inside the game. You might have to jump back to the Main Menu, but you won't need to restart the entire game to see your new items.
Everything runs on Moola, the virtual currency used specifically for these community creations. It’s an efficient way to support the talented creators who spend hours building the furniture and outfits we all use to fill our digital homes. This ensures console Simmers get the same curated experience as PC users, keeping everyone on the same page for future updates.
Changes to Kits and Shopping
There's a significant change to how you'll shop for Kits from now on. You can't find them on the PlayStation or Xbox Stores anymore. If you want a specific Kit, you have to go through the in-game Marketplace. Don’t worry about your larger DLC, though.
Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs are still sitting in the traditional console storefronts where they’ve always been. If you’ve already bought Kits in the past, they’ll still be in your library; this change only affects how you’ll pick up new ones moving forward. This move to the Marketplace aims to keep the smaller, community-focused content in one easy-to-find spot.
The Sims 4 Country Kitchen Kit Is the Perfect Start for Console Simmers
To celebrate the console launch, there's a gift waiting for you. Simmers on all platforms can grab The Sims 4 Country Kitchen Kit for free through the Marketplace. You have until May 29, 2026, to add this to your collection.
It’s a great way to test out the new Marketplace library and see how the community content fits into your builds. It’s a smart choice for a giveaway because it fits so many different build styles, from rustic cottages to modern family homes. I’m already looking at my kitchen counters and realizing they are ready for an updated look.
