I am still trying to process the latest news about the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie film. It looks like the universe is getting much bigger than we thought. Fox McCloud is joining the cast of the film.

I never thought I would see a Star Fox crossover this early in the movie series. The new character poster shows Fox McCloud in his classic gear. Fox McCloud looks like a natural fit alongside Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach.

Fox McCloud Brings Star Fox Into The Fold

The film hits theatres on April 1. Many fans think this might lead to a full movie universe for Nintendo. It makes sense because Fox McCloud has been a main part of the Smash Bros series for years. Fox McCloud first appeared on the Super Nintendo back in 1993. Since then, Fox McCloud has stayed at the top of the list for many gamers. Seeing Fox McCloud in an Illumination movie is a massive win for fans of the Star Fox series.

We have followed The Super Mario Galaxy Movie news since the Super Mario Galaxy Movie announcement last year. This sequel brings back the original cast and Jack Black says Super Mario Galaxy fans will love it. It also adds new stars like Brie Larson as Princess Rosalina and Donald Glover as Yoshi. The 2023 film grossed over $1 billion at the box office. Nintendo clearly wants to keep that energy going. Adding a pilot like Fox McCloud suggests that the space setting from the Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer will play a huge role in the story. I am curious to see if we will get more characters from other series too.

I think Fox McCloud looks great in this new poster for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

Speculation Starts For The Voice Of Fox McCloud

The art style for the poster matches the first film perfectly. It has the bright and vibrant look we expect from Illumination. I'm glad they are finally giving Fox McCloud his time on the big screen. It has been over thirty years since the debut of Fox McCloud. This feels like the right moment for Fox McCloud to make a movie debut.

There is no word on the voice actor yet. Fans are already guessing who might take the role. Many hope that Mike West will return to voice Fox McCloud to keep that classic feel. Others think Illumination might pick a big Hollywood name like Chris Pine or James Marsden to match the rest of the star-studded cast. No matter who it is, this is a big step for Nintendo. They are moving toward something bigger than just Mario. This film could change how we look at video game movies.
