Circana’s latest engagement snapshot, shared by Mat Piscatella, shows what people were actually playing for the week ending December 20, 2025. The data reflects total weekly active users rather than concurrent peaks, covering PlayStation and Xbox activity in the United States alongside Steam engagement across the US, Canada, and Mexico.

The top of the charts will look familiar at a glance, but there are a few meaningful shifts once you look closer. Fortnite still dominates console time, and ARC Raiders continues to show up across platforms. Steam remains competitive, with small shifts driven by updates and promotions.

If you missed last week’s snapshot, you can catch up here: What Gamers Played This Week: Week Ending Dec 13, 2025. That context helps this week make more sense, since the story here is less about dramatic changes and more about which games are holding steady and which ones are climbing back into view.

Fortnite continues to soak up console time on both PlayStation and Xbox, with Winterfest helping keep it locked at the top of the charts for the week ending December 20, 2025.

Fortnite and Call of Duty are still doing what they always do on console, sitting at the top and soaking up most of the time. GTA V (Remastered) stays locked into the top three on both PlayStation and Xbox, which somehow keeps feeling normal despite how long it has been around.

On PlayStation, the top five doesn’t move at all. Fortnite, Call of Duty, GTA V, Roblox, and NBA 2K26 all stay exactly where they were last week. The only real shuffling happens lower down, with Minecraft and Battlefield 6 swapping positions and WWE 2K25 sliding into the tenth spot as Where Winds Meet drops just outside the top ten.

Xbox shows a similar story at the top, but with a bit more movement underneath. ARC Raiders climbs back into eighth after sitting outside the top ten last week, while Rainbow Six Siege holds its spot at ninth. Marvel Rivals slips to tenth after sitting a little higher previously, but it’s still clearly sticking around.

Overall, this week feels like a holding pattern on consoles. The biggest games keep doing what they do best, while the back half of the top ten shifts based on updates, weekends, and whatever people felt like jumping into without overthinking it.

ARC Raiders holds its spot at the top of the Steam US charts again, continuing its strong run week over week.

ARC Raiders stays locked at number one in the US, holding its ground for another week. Counter-Strike 2 and Battlefield 6 remain right behind it, keeping the same top three as last week with no movement at the very top.

Most of the action happens just below that. Marvel Rivals climbs one spot into fourth, while Path of Exile II continues its steady rise, moving up again after sitting outside the top five earlier this month. Helldivers II drops a couple of places but still stays firmly inside the top ten, which lines up with how consistent its player base has been.

Further down, Megabonk makes a noticeable jump, moving from outside the top ten last week into eighth. Rocket League and Peak both hold their spots, rounding out a list that feels stable but still reactive to updates and renewed interest.

Steam Canada Snapshot: Counter-Strike 2 Still on Top

Counter-Strike 2 stays on top in Canada, holding first place on the Steam charts for another week.

Canada keeps the same familiar shape at the top. Counter-Strike 2 remains number one, with ARC Raiders and Battlefield 6 holding second and third. That trio continues to define the Steam landscape here week after week.

Path of Exile II stays planted in fourth after its recent surge, while Dota 2 climbs back up into fifth. Helldivers II slips one spot but remains a regular presence, and Marvel Rivals holds steady just behind it.

Lower down, Warframe and Peak both inch upward, while Rocket League drops to tenth. It’s a list that doesn’t swing wildly, but it does show small shifts as people rotate between long-term favourites and newer content drops.

Counter-Strike 2 holds onto first place on Steam in Mexico, staying locked at the top of the chart this week.

Mexico’s chart continues to move more than the others. Counter-Strike 2 holds first place again, but ARC Raiders makes a strong climb into second after sitting lower last week. Marvel Rivals also pushes up, landing in third.

Battlefield 6 drops one spot into fourth, while Peak and Helldivers II both stay active in the middle of the list. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 makes a big return, jumping from well outside the top ten into seventh, which lines up with renewed attention around the game.

Monster Hunter: Wilds also appears after a major jump, while Left 4 Dead 2 and Overwatch 2 hang on near the bottom. Mexico’s list continues to blend newer releases with older co-op staples in a way that feels distinct from the US and Canada.

The Big Picture This Week

Across PlayStation, Xbox and PC, this week feels pretty steady. Fortnite and Call of Duty are still doing what they always do best on console, sitting at the top and soaking up most of the time. If you’ve been playing on PlayStation or Xbox lately, none of that should come as a shock.

Steam tells a slightly different story. ARC Raiders keeps showing up near the top across all threee regions, Counter-Strike 2 stays locked in as a regular, and Battlefield 6 continues to hang around without any big swings up or down. Most of the movement here feels tied to updates, free weekends, or people checking back in rather than chasing something brand new.

Overall, this looks like a week where people are settling into their usual rotation. You play what you already know, jump back into something after an update, or mess around with a familiar game while waiting on whatever’s next. The charts line up with that kind of week pretty cleanly.
