A snapshot of what gamers spent the most time playing this week, with familiar leaders holding strong and a few PC titles climbing back into view.
By Jon Scarr
Circana’s latest engagement snapshot, shared by Mat Piscatella, shows what people were actually playing for the week ending December 13, 2025. The data reflects total weekly active users rather than concurrent peaks, covering PlayStation and Xbox activity in the United States alongside Steam engagement across the US, Canada, and Mexico.
The top of the charts will look familiar at a glance, but there are a few meaningful shifts once you look closer. Fortnite still dominates console time, and ARC Raiders continues to show up across platforms. Steam remains competitive, with small shifts driven by updates and promotions.
If you missed last week’s snapshot, you can catch up here: What Gamers Played This Week: Week Ending Dec 6, 2025. That context helps this week make more sense, since the story here is less about dramatic changes and more about which games are holding steady and which ones are climbing back into view.
Console Snapshot: Familiar Leaders, Small Shifts Underneath

Top 10 Most Played Games on Xbox (US)

Fortnite remains the most played game on both PlayStation and Xbox, continuing its long-running hold at the top of the console charts this week.
Fortnite holds the top spot on both PlayStation and Xbox again this week, with Call of Duty HQ locked into second place on both platforms. The very top barely moves, and it’s still where most console time is going.
On PlayStation, the top five is completely unchanged. Fortnite, Call of Duty HQ, GTA V (Remastered), Roblox, and NBA 2K26 all hold their exact positions from last week. The movement starts just below that. Marvel Rivals climbs from eighth to sixth, while Minecraft nudges up one spot into eighth. Where Winds Meet slips slightly, dropping from seventh to ninth, while Madden NFL 26 stays anchored at number ten.
Over on Xbox, the top four also remain stable, with Fortnite, Call of Duty HQ, GTA V (Remastered), and Roblox holding their ground. Minecraft stays solid at fifth, but there is more visible movement further down. NBA 2K26 and Battlefield 6 both climb one spot, while Marvel Rivals moves up into eighth. Mortal Kombat 1 makes a notable return, jumping from well outside the list last week into ninth place following its Game Pass addition. Rainbow Six Siege rounds out the top ten after sitting just outside it previously.
Overall, this week’s console charts feel more about momentum than disruption. The biggest titles continue to dominate, while smaller shifts reflect updates, promotions, and renewed interest rather than any major shake-up.

ARC Raiders holds onto the top spot on Steam in the US, continuing its strong momentum among PC gamers this week.
ARC Raiders holds onto first place on Steam US again this week, continuing a run that now feels more like the norm than a surprise. Counter-Strike 2 and Battlefield 6 follow closely behind, keeping the same familiar trio at the top.
The biggest movement happens just below that. Path of Exile II makes a huge jump into sixth, climbing from far outside the top ten last week. That spike lines up cleanly with its recent content drop and free weekend, which is exactly the kind of push that can pull a game back into heavy rotation.
Warframe also moves up noticeably, landing at seventh after sitting lower the previous week. Peak climbs into tenth as well, showing that smaller but buzzy releases can still break through when momentum hits at the right time.
Not everything moves up, though. Where Winds Meet slips down to ninth, and Rocket League drops a spot into eighth, but both remain steady presences rather than true fall-offs. Overall, this list feels active without being chaotic, driven more by updates and timing than by any sudden change in taste.

Counter-Strike 2 keeps the top spot on Steam in Canada this week, edging out ARC Raiders and Battlefield 6.
Canada keeps Counter-Strike 2 locked into first place again this week, continuing its steady grip on the top spot. ARC Raiders stays right behind it in second, while Battlefield 6 holds firm in third, keeping the same familiar shape at the top of the list.
The biggest story here is Path of Exile II. It rockets up into fourth after being far down the chart last week, which lines up perfectly with its recent update and free weekend. That kind of jump is hard to miss and shows how quickly Steam habits can change when a game gives people a reason to jump back in.
Helldivers II slides down slightly into fifth but still stays comfortably in the mix. Marvel Rivals drops one spot into sixth, while Dota 2 holds steady in seventh, continuing its quiet but reliable presence.
Warframe climbs into eighth after sitting lower last week, while Rocket League and Where Winds Meet round out the top ten. Overall, this list feels busy without being unstable, driven by a mix of long-running staples and well-timed updates rather than any sudden shake-up.

Counter-Strike 2 remains a major presence on Steam in Mexico this week, staying near the top alongside Battlefield 6 and Marvel Rivals.
ARC Raiders holds at fourth, and Helldivers II stays parked at fifth. Peak doesn’t move either, keeping sixth for another week. The smaller shuffles happen right after that. Overwatch 2 moves up from eighth to seventh, while R.E.P.O. slides from seventh to eighth.
The real story is the bottom of the list. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 makes a big leap into ninth after sitting much lower last week, while Warframe climbs back into the top ten at number ten. Mexico continues to be the region with the most week-to-week movement, mixing steady favourites with sudden returns that can shift the list quickly.
The Big Picture This Week
If you’ve been gaming all week, none of this probably feels surprising. Fortnite and Call of Duty HQ are still glued to the top of the console charts. That feels less like hype at this point and more like routine. These are the games people boot up without even thinking about it.
You also keep running into ARC Raiders no matter where you look. Steam, Xbox, different regions. It keeps hanging around, which usually means people are actually sticking with it instead of bouncing after a weekend.
On the PC side, this week feels driven by momentum more than surprises. Path of Exile 2 jumps up fast after updates and a free weekend, which tracks with how quickly Steam lists react when something gives people a reason to log back in. Helldivers II keeps creeping upward too, just steadily gaining ground without needing a big moment.
The regional differences still add some personality. Canada keeps Counter-Strike 2 near the top like clockwork, while Mexico continues to shuffle more week to week. That mix of movement makes those lists feel a bit less predictable.
Overall, this week feels like a snapshot of habits settling in. The biggest games keep pulling people back, while updates, free weekends, and word of mouth give others a chance to climb again. If you’ve been moving between platforms this week, the charts probably matched up with what kept popping up on your friends list.
