| Mayor of Kingstown will return for an eight-episode fifth and final season on Paramount+. |
By Juli Scarr
Paramount+ has confirmed that Mayor of Kingstown is coming back for an eight-episode fifth and final season. The series stars Jeremy Renner and Edie Falco, and the renewal officially sets up the show’s endgame.
The drama is co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Canadian creator Hugh Dillon, and is produced by Paramount Television Studios alongside 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions.
The Show’s Final Chapter Is Official
The announcement arrives shortly after season four wrapped on December 28, closing out one of the show’s strongest runs so far. Paramount+ hasn’t shared a release window for season five yet, but the renewal confirms that the next set of episodes will also be the last.
Paramount+ also confirmed the final season will run for eight episodes.
Season 4 Ended With Kingstown Sliding Further Into Chaos
Season four kept the pressure on Mike McLusky as the balance of power in Kingstown shifted again. With the Russians gone, new players moved fast to fill the vacuum, forcing Mike to deal with an escalating gang war before it swallowed the town.
At the same time, the personal stakes rose even higher. With people close to Mike facing more danger than ever, he also had to navigate a headstrong new warden while still carrying the weight of his past.
When Does Season 5 Release?
There’s no date yet for the fifth and final season. Paramount+ has only confirmed the renewal and the eight-episode order, so the next big updates to watch for are production timing and a premiere window.
If you’ve been keeping up with the power shifts and fallout in Kingstown, season five is now officially the finish line.
