Chris Pratt is hinting that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has more familiar faces on the way, even after the recent trailer confirmed Rosalina and Bowser Jr.

In a recent interview, Pratt said there are additional characters that still haven’t been shown publicly, suggesting Nintendo and Illumination are holding back a few reveals for later.

“Oh, yes, there are,” Pratt said when asked if more characters were coming. “I’m not allowed to say what they are, but yes, there are some really incredible… well, I think some of them have been released in the trailer – Rosalina, Bowser Jr. – and then there’s even a couple more that are not in the trailer that people should be excited to see.”

More Familiar Faces Still Under Wraps

The trailer already gave fans a big clue about the direction of the sequel. Rosalina and Bowser Jr. are both tied closely to the Galaxy era of Mario, and their inclusion makes it pretty clear the movie is pulling from that side of the series rather than staying locked to the Mushroom Kingdom.

Rosalina is voiced by Brie Larson, while Benny Safdie takes on Bowser Jr. They join a returning cast that includes Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Jack Black as Bowser.

A Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct Is Coming Soon

Pratt didn’t say who the other characters are, but his comments make it sound like Nintendo and Illumination are saving at least a couple of surprises. With a Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct on the calendar, there’s a good chance that’s where you’ll get a clearer idea of who else is joining the lineup.

For now, Nintendo seems to be keeping things close to the chest, with a few surprises likely being saved for later.
