The Canadian Game Awards and XP Game Summit have announced a strategic partnership that brings the two events together this year, expanding the public celebration of Canadian-made games in Toronto.

Under the new agreement, the 2026 Canadian Game Awards Gala will be held alongside XP Game Summit. Organizers say the move reflects the scale and strength of Canada’s game industry, which they value at $5.1 billion.

The Canadian Game Awards Gala is now being held alongside XP Game Summit, bringing the country’s awards celebration together with one of its key industry-facing events in Toronto.

Alongside the Gala, the Eh! Game Showcase gives players a chance to try Canadian-made games, discover upcoming releases, and meet the teams behind them.

Organizers Say the Partnership Strengthens Visibility for Canadian Games

Carl-Edwin Michel, creator and Executive Producer of the Canadian Game Awards, said the partnership builds on what the event has aimed to do from the start.

“Holding the Awards alongside XP Game Summit builds on what the Canadian Game Awards have always been about. It gives creators the recognition they deserve and keeps the focus on the games themselves through both the Awards and the Eh! Game Showcase.”

XP Game Summit CEO Jason Lepine said the summit brings international companies to Toronto to connect with Canadian studios, talent, and service providers.

“The global game industry comes to XP Game Summit to do business with Canada. Last year, more than 350 companies representing over 18 countries came to Toronto to connect with Canadian studios and talent. Partnering with the Canadian Game Awards helps show the world the depth of our industry and gives everyone a chance to celebrate it together.”

More Details Expected in the Months Ahead

Additional details about dates, programming, and public ticketing for the 2026 Canadian Game Awards and the Eh! Game Showcase are expected in the coming months.

The 2026 ceremony will mark the sixth edition of the Canadian Game Awards, which recognize excellence and creative achievement across Canada’s game industry. The awards highlight work in game development, content creation, and esports, celebrating the studios and individuals contributing to Canada’s role as a major global player in game development.

The event’s alignment with XP Game Summit also places it alongside one of the country’s key business-focused gaming conferences. XP Gaming’s events, including XP Game Summit and the Montreal International Game Summit, bring together developers, publishers, investors, and service providers from around the world to support collaboration and industry growth.

Further announcements related to event scheduling, programming, and public access are expected closer to May.
