The Canadian Game Awards have shared details on the next Eh! Game Dev Drinks event, continuing a series focused on bringing together developers and creatives from across the Canadian game industry.

Set to take place on January 15, 2026 from 5pm to 10pm in Hamilton, Ontario, the event blends informal networking with a short speaker segment and a look back at Canadian games released over the past year.

A Practical Focus on Indie Marketing

The evening will feature a talk from Gem Johnson, CEO of Corvian Marketing. Johnson’s session is centered on how indie developers can use social media more effectively, with an emphasis on practical, realistic approaches rather than broad marketing theory.

According to the event description, the talk draws on real-world experience working with games and creative teams, aiming to address the challenges smaller studios face when trying to build visibility without large marketing budgets.

Looking Back at Canadian Games in 2025

Alongside the speaker session, the event will include a short retrospective segment highlighting Canadian games released in 2025. A curated clip show will showcase a range of projects, offering a snapshot of the creativity and diversity within Canada’s development scene over the past year.

This reflective element helps frame the event as more than a social gathering, tying it directly to the broader state of the Canadian games industry.
