HoYoverse appeared at The Game Awards 2025 with a new trailer for Zenless Zone Zero, offering a first look at upcoming characters and teasing what lies ahead for the game’s story. The showcase introduced Agents Ye Shunguang and Zhao, while also hinting at a mysterious new faction called the Angels of Delusion.
Zenless Zone Zero is HoYoverse’s urban fantasy action RPG, set in a world reshaped by supernatural disasters known as Hollows. The game takes place in New Eridu, the last remaining city after the collapse of modern civilization. You step into the role of a Proxy, working alongside a growing roster of agents to explore Hollows, complete commissions, and uncover the secrets behind the city’s survival.
The trailer shown during the awards focused on combat, character identity, and story direction rather than broader system changes. It served as a spotlight moment, highlighting how Zenless Zone Zero continues to expand its cast and narrative scope.
Ye Shunguang Debuts as the Game’s First Dual-Form Agent
The trailer marked the global gameplay premiere of Ye Shunguang, an upcoming Void Hunter from Yunkui Summit. She is described as Zenless Zone Zero’s first-ever dual-form agent, capable of shifting seamlessly between two combat styles.
Her sword-focused fighting style emphasizes aerial bursts and decisive finishing strikes, giving her a strong on-screen presence during the reveal. The dual-form setup suggests a flexible combat approach, though specific mechanics were not detailed during the showcase.
Alongside Ye Shunguang, the trailer also featured the return of Zhao, a rabbit Thrien agent who fights with a massive greataxe. Her quick movements and heavy swings contrast with Ye Shunguang’s precision, adding variety to the combat shown.
Angels of Delusion Teased for Future Updates
The trailer closed with a brief teaser for a new faction known as the Angels of Delusion. The reveal hinted at an upcoming live performance and suggested that this group will play a role in future story chapters.
