Holiday sales hit at the perfect time if you have a Sims fan on your list. This year, The Sims 4 team is going a bit further than a simple discount banner. It’s a surprisingly thoughtful way to shop for Sims fans instead of guessing what packs they already own. Alongside a new Holiday Sale running from December 18 through January 5, EA has put together a Sims Holiday Gift Guide that matches different “types” of Simmers with curated packs and official merch.
The idea is pretty fun. Instead of just scrolling a long store page, you can zero in on the friend who loves big-city drama, the builder who hates overhead lighting, or the person who spends hours making supernatural households. Each list combines discounted Sims 4 expansion packs with themed clothing, plushies, and accessories.
New and returning merch gets time in the spotlight too, including the Plumbob Plushie, Jacquard Plumbob Pullover Sweater, The Sims Wide-Leg Pajama Bottoms, Plumbob Headband, The Sims ‘Est. 2000 Sims University’ T-shirt, and a Plumbob Enamel Pin, along with a bunch of smaller items. Whether you are shopping for another simmer or quietly planning to treat yourself, here is how each section of the guide breaks down.
For the ones who…Love A Trope
This part of the guide is for storytellers at heart. The page calls out slow-burn romances, big-city drama, and lore-filled storylines that read like a favourite novel you do not want to put down. It leans into packs that make neighbourhoods feel like overlapping episodes of a show.
Featured packs
- Discover University – sends Sims off to school, where they pick majors, attend classes, and juggle campus life and part-time work.
- City Living – focuses on apartment living in San Myshuno, with festivals, neighbours, and noisy high-rise drama.
- Businesses & Hobbies – lets Sims build small businesses around skills like tattooing and pottery in the new world of Nordhaven.
Featured merch
- The Sims Travel Series Notebook
- The Sims Est. 2000 Sims University T-shirt
- The Sims Visit San Myshuno T-shirt
- Plumbob Plushie
If you know someone who treats The Sims 4 like their own soap opera, this lineup makes sense. You can bundle one of the story-heavy packs with the University shirt or travel notebook and it already feels like a themed gift instead of a random code. We all have that one friend who narrates their Sims save like a TV season, and this category nails their vibe.
For the ones who…Hate Overhead Lighting
If you have ever watched a simmer immediately delete every bright ceiling light, this section is for them. The description talks about romanticizing quiet moments and building soft-lit spaces that drift into slow mornings and “quiet magic.” It backs that up with cozy packs and home-y merch.
Featured packs
- Cottage Living – shifts things to the countryside with farming, chickens, cows, and village errands around Henford-on-Bagley.
- Growing Together – focuses on family gameplay, relationship milestones, and life events in San Sequoia.
- Horse Ranch – adds horses, nectar making, and ranch life in the desert world of Chestnut Ridge.
Featured merch
- Jacquard Plumbob Pullover Sweater
- Freezer Bunny Plushie
- Cowplant Plushie
- The Sims Wide-Leg Pajama Bottoms
This category feels straightforward. It suits anyone who plays to unwind, decorate, or build slow-paced households. You could grab Cottage Living or Growing Together on sale, pair it with the sweater or pajama bottoms, and you are basically handing someone a cozy weekend in a bag. The plushies are easy stocking stuffers too.
For the ones with…A Lore Drop
This category is aimed at Simmers who thrive on the weird side of things. The page calls out strange stories, dramatic twists, eccentric households, bold décor, and offbeat routines. It leans into fame, messy relationships, and over-the-top drama.
Featured packs
- Get Famous – lets Sims chase celebrity life in Del Sol Valley with acting careers, influencers, and all the perks and problems that come with fame.
- Lovestruck – centres on romance, dates, and new relationship-focused gameplay in the city of Ciudad Enamorada.
- High School Years – focuses on teen life, school days, after-school activities, and big moments like prom.
Featured merch
- The Sims YaGoBuGi Card Game
- The Sims Leeb, Leefah, Lurve Heart T-shirt
- The Sims Delete The Ladder Button
- Cowplant Vinyl Figurine
It is a fun mix. Get Famous and Lovestruck push relationships and public image, while High School Years handles coming-of-age stories. On the merch side, that Delete The Ladder button is one of those dark Sims jokes that long-time fans understand instantly. If you know someone who always has the most unhinged save file, this is their lane.
For the ones…Who Live Between Worlds
The last section covers Simmers who love liminal spaces, enchanted forests, eerie towns, and everything a bit off from reality. The description brings up worlds where magic hums under each step and leans hard into occult and mystical vibes.
Featured packs
- Enchanted by Nature – adds a nature-focused magical world, fairies, and a more free-spirited lifestyle.
- Life & Death – deals with afterlife themed gameplay, Grim Reaper related content, and new ways to handle Sim deaths.
- Island Living – takes things to Sulani, with tropical island life, conservation activities, and ocean-focused gameplay.
Featured merch
- Grim Plushie
- Sulani Travel Poster
- The Sims Bella Goth UFO T-shirt
- The Sims Vintage Distressed Logo Sweatshirt
This list feels perfect for the friend who never plays a “normal” household. If you know someone whose saves always end with ghosts or cults, you’ll know exactly who fits here. A Grim Plushie next to someone’s monitor says a lot on its own. Match that with Enchanted by Nature or Life & Death and you are basically gifting them a new supernatural phase for their game.
How to shop the Sims Holiday Sale
The Sims Holiday Gift Guide page is where it all comes together, packs, merch, and persona lists. From there you can click into each persona, see the featured packs, and jump straight to the merch. The Holiday Sale covers content and runs from December 18 to January 5, giving you a decent window for last minute gifts and New Year treats.
If you are shopping digitally, it makes sense to grab a pack from the persona that fits your simmer friend the most, then add one of the listed shirts or plushies for something they can actually unwrap. If you are just shopping for yourself, it is a nice excuse to finally match your favourite household with a hoodie or plush sitting on your desk.
Personally, I am somewhere between “Hate Overhead Lighting” and “Live Between Worlds.” Soft lamps, weird ghosts, and a Freezer Bunny plush on the shelf does not sound like a bad way to end the year.
