PlayStation just kicked off one of its biggest community events of the year. The PS Blog Game of the Year Awards 2025 are officially live, and you can vote right now across nineteen categories. If you like putting your favourites in the spotlight, this is one of the easiest ways to support the games and studios that left an impact over the past twelve months.
Sony explained that this year’s categories highlight everything from new characters to soundtracks, art direction, re-releases, and full PS5 and PS4 game awards. It covers a wide range of genres and styles, so you will likely find something you enjoyed this year. You can also write in a game if it is not listed, which is great for titles that landed late or built a strong niche following.
The PlayStation Blog team included a few important guidelines. The Best PS5 Game category is limited to titles released in the 2025 calendar year. Best Multiplayer Experience follows that same idea and focuses on games that came out this year. Best Ongoing Game is reserved for titles that received major updates during 2025. The Best Re-release category covers remasters, ports, and visual upgrades, but full remakes go into other categories.
There is also a clear cutoff. Anything released after November 30 will not be eligible until next year. Sony also mentioned that if a game already won Platinum in the Most Anticipated category in a previous year, it will not be included again. For example, Grand Theft Auto VI is not on the ballot in the Most Anticipated category this time.
Voting is open until Monday, December 8 at 11:59 PM PT, so you have a bit of time to scroll through the polls and make your choices. Every vote is community driven and the results will be revealed in a few weeks with Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum trophies.
If you want to participate, head to the PlayStation Blog and cast your votes. It only takes a few minutes and it is a fun way to wrap up the year in gaming. Let us know what you voted for in the comments below.
