This week’s Nintendo Download brings a mix of new titles, DLC drops, classic returns and updates across Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. It reminds me of those weeks where you open the eShop out of habit and end up realizing there is way more to browse than you expected. December usually gets lively, so it is nice seeing another packed list before the year wraps up.

You get Skyrim in its Anniversary Edition format for Nintendo Switch 2. Ultimate Sheep Raccoon brings loud energy to local and online sessions. Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader lands later today for RPG fans who like story heavy runs. You also get a GameCube throwback with Wario World joining Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. When you add in the DLC and Nintendo Music updates, you end up with a week that covers almost every type of mood.

Here is everything new in this Nintendo Download.

New On Nintendo Switch 2

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Anniversary Edition

Skyrim shows up again, this time with improved visuals, smoother performance and faster load times on Nintendo Switch 2. It includes all three expansions. It is available now, and honestly, it is one of those games where you say you will only play for an hour and then look up at the clock later.

Ultimate Sheep Raccoon

This is the kind of game people load up when they want something lively. You build tracks, add hazards and race with up to eight people locally or online. The level creator lets you share builds and playlists, which might keep this one in rotation for a while. It is available now on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader

Owlcat brings its detailed RPG to Nintendo Switch 2. You travel across the Koronus Expanse, make choices that shape the world and build your identity from the start. It goes live later today. I am curious how the handheld experience will feel for this one.

Nintendo GameCube Classic Returns

Wario World

Wario World joins Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The 2003 GameCube action game still hits with its treasure grabbing and wild moves. The Piledriver always looks satisfying even after all these years. It is available now for Expansion Pack members on Nintendo Switch 2.

New DLC And Updates

Donkey Kong Bananza DK Island and Emerald Rush Event

The Dig the Beat event runs from December 16 to December 22. You can earn statues of Ninja Kong and Ghastly King from the GameCube era. It might be fun revisiting those characters if you remember Jungle Beat.

F ZERO 99 Version 1.7.0 Update

There is a Frozen Tour event with snow covered tracks until January 19. Three Secret Tracks have been added. You can earn Lucky Tokens for Lucky Ranks. There is also a new music player and new backdrops for Pilot Cards. Small touches like that keep the game feeling fresh.

Pokémon Legends Z A Mega Dimension DLC

Distortions hit Lumiose City and lead into Hyperspace Lumiose. You join Ansha and Hoopa to deal with the strange shifts happening there. Some Pokémon have hyperspace levels that pass the usual cap. New Mega Evolutions arrive too, like Mega Raichu X and Y. The DLC is available now, and it feels like the kind of update you jump into just to see what is going on.

Nintendo Music Updates

You can check your 2025 Year in Review in the Nintendo Music app until January 5. The Yoshi’s Crafted World soundtrack is now available. Two new playlists highlight memorable tracks from 2024 and 2025. hey make for easy listening if you want something on in the background.

Wrapping Up This Week’s Nintendo Download

There is plenty to look at this week. I keep going back and forth between Skyrim and Ultimate Sheep Raccoon because they offer such different moods. Wario World might also pull me in again since I have not touched it in years. That is what makes these weekly Nintendo Download updates fun. Something always catches your eye, even if you did not expect it.
