Capcom has shared new details on Resident Evil Requiem, confirming that Leon S. Kennedy is one of the game’s two protagonists. Revealed at The Game Awards 2025, Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The story connects Leon’s investigation with another lead character, FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, as both begin examining a series of strange deaths that may link back to the hidden truth behind the 1998 Raccoon City Incident.
Capcom positions Leon as a central part of the narrative rather than a brief appearance. He is investigating a dead body found in an abandoned hotel, which is the same location Grace is examining at the same time. This shared setting ties both characters to the same mystery while allowing their stories to unfold from different perspectives.
Dual Protagonists Split Action and Survival Horror
Resident Evil Requiem uses a dual protagonist structure built around two distinct play styles. Leon’s sections are described as more action driven, focusing on intense encounters and high risk situations. Grace’s gameplay leans toward survival horror, emphasizing tension, vulnerability, and careful decision making.
Capcom frames this approach as a way to balance different tones within a single campaign. Players can expect Leon’s confidence and experience to contrast with Grace’s more grounded and cautious approach. Together, both perspectives are meant to shape the overall pacing of the story and how the investigation unfolds.
New Announcements Include a Porsche Partnership and Deluxe Edition Updates
Several additional updates were also revealed at The Game Awards. Capcom confirmed a collaboration with Porsche, introducing a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT into the game as Leon’s vehicle. The partnership places a real world performance car directly into Resident Evil Requiem’s story.
The Resident Evil Requiem Deluxe Edition has also been expanded. It now includes three Leon costumes inspired by Resident Evil 4, Apocalypse, and Film Noir, along with a DSO emblem weapon charm.
Showcase Plans, Fortnite Items, and an Amiibo First
Capcom announced that a new Resident Evil Showcase will premiere in early 2026, offering a deeper look at Resident Evil Requiem ahead of launch.
There is also a Fortnite collaboration tied to Epic Games Store purchases. Players who buy Resident Evil Requiem through the Epic Games Store will receive Resident Evil themed items in Fortnite, including a Grace outfit. These items will be distributed after the game’s release, with more details coming later.
Another notable reveal is that Grace Ashcroft will become the first ever Resident Evil amiibo, scheduled to release in Summer 2026.
