PLAION REPLAI has delayed the worldwide launch of the NEOGEO AES+ to September 16, 2027, pushing it back from its previously announced November 12, 2026 release. The extra time will be used to expand manufacturing, while more games are also planned beyond the 10 already announced for launch.
Existing pre-orders remain secure and keep their priority, with no price increase planned. PLAION REPLAI is also adding a Founding Supporter Bonus to consoles from the launch production run.
Demand and Memory Chip Constraints Push the Launch Into 2027
PLAION REPLAI is developing and publishing the NEOGEO AES+ under licence from SNK. The system was originally scheduled to launch worldwide on November 12, 2026 with 10 physical games available alongside the hardware.
Demand from fans, collectors, and retail partners came in much higher than PLAION REPLAI expected. The company has been working with manufacturing partners to increase production, but it says worldwide demand for memory chips has also created supply constraints.
Rather than move ahead with a November release and heavily limited stock, PLAION REPLAI has shifted the launch to September 16, 2027. The added time will be used to secure more components, increase production, and build enough inventory for pre-order customers and a larger worldwide release.
If you already have a pre-order, there’s nothing you need to do. Existing orders keep their priority, pricing is staying the same, and pre-orders remain open through Amazon, Amazon Canada, and PLAION REPLAI while stock lasts.
PLAION REPLAI Plans More Games Beyond the Original 10
The delay also gives PLAION REPLAI more time to expand the NEOGEO AES+ game lineup.
The system was announced with 10 games for launch, but additional games are now planned beyond that original lineup. PLAION REPLAI is also in discussions with other licensors about bringing more games to the platform, although none of those additions have been named yet.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 will be the next major stop for NEOGEO AES+. Visitors will be able to try the hardware and learn more about the expanding software roadmap.
Launch Units Get a Founding Supporter Bonus
PLAION REPLAI is also adding a Founding Supporter Bonus to consoles from the launch production run. It will be included with launch stock while supplies last and won’t be part of future manufacturing runs.
Standard and Anniversary Edition buyers will receive a free NEOGEO AES+ Gamepad. Ultimate Edition buyers will instead get a 30% discount voucher that can be used toward a NEOGEO AES+ game purchased through the PLAION REPLAI website.
Since the Ultimate Edition already includes the complete launch game lineup, that voucher can be saved for a future release or used to buy another copy of an available game.
With the new September 2027 date set, the next thing to watch is what PLAION REPLAI adds to the lineup. Tokyo Game Show 2026 should give us our first closer look at where the expanded software roadmap is heading.
