Evercade has launched Visco Arcade 1 and Visco Arcade 2, two new physical cartridges collecting 16 arcade games from Visco Corporation.
Both arrived August 28 with eight games apiece. Rather than packing everything onto one cartridge, Evercade has divided Visco's arcade history across two releases covering different periods of the company's catalogue.
Visco Arcade 1 Reaches Back to the '80s and '90s
Visco Arcade 1 pulls together eight games from the earlier side of Visco's arcade history.
Andro Dunos, Drift Out, and Galmedes are among the games in the collection. That gives the cartridge a varied start, moving between shooting and racing instead of being built around one type of arcade game.
Andro Dunos will likely be one of the more familiar names for shoot-'em-up fans. Drift Out brings Visco's arcade racing side into the collection, and Galmedes adds another shooter from the company's back catalogue.
The eight-game format also keeps this closer to the curated arcade collections Evercade has built its physical library around rather than trying to put every available Visco game onto a single cartridge.
Visco Arcade 2 Moves Deeper Into the '90s
Visco Arcade 2 concentrates more heavily on games from the later 1990s.
Drift Out '94: The Hard Order, Neo Drift Out: New Technology, and Breakers are among the eight included games. The two Drift Out releases continue the racing side of the first cartridge, and Breakers adds fighting into the second collection.
Putting Visco Arcade 1 and 2 next to each other makes the split easy to understand. The first cart reaches further back, and the second moves deeper into Visco's later arcade years.
You also don't need one cartridge to use the other. They're separate releases, so Evercade collectors can grab the set that interests them or add both for all 16 games.
The pair launched alongside another Evercade release on August 28. Piko Interactive Collection 1 returned in a revised edition after previously moving into Legacy status.
For Visco, these two cartridges bring another part of the company's arcade catalogue to Evercade in physical form. Visco Arcade 1 and Visco Arcade 2 are available now through Evercade retailers.
