The Sims 4 Mean Girls Capsule Kit and The Sims 4 Clueless Capsule Kit are available now, bringing fashion inspired by both movies into Create a Sim.
EA released the crossover kits on August 27 for PC and Mac through the EA app, Epic Games Store, and Steam, along with PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, XBOX Series X|S, and XBOX One. Both require The Sims 4 base game and the latest game updates.
Mean Girls Brings North Shore High Fashion to Create a Sim
The Mean Girls Capsule Kit pulls from some of the movie's most recognizable outfits. Miniskirts, coordinated sweaters, Mathletes jackets, a velour track suit, and other Y2K-inspired clothing are included.
There's even an outfit inspired by the movie's holiday performance.
Instead of limiting everything to exact recreations of Regina George and The Plastics, EA has included different swatches that let you mix the pieces with the rest of your Sims' wardrobes. That should make the kit more useful once you've moved past recreating scenes from the movie.
And yes, pink is very well represented.
Clueless Goes Back to '90s Beverly Hills
The Clueless Capsule Kit heads back another decade with clothing inspired by Cher and Tai. Cher's instantly recognizable yellow plaid set is here, along with layered tops, button-front skirts, workout clothes, overalls inspired by Tai, and other '90s pieces.
Like the Mean Girls kit, these are Create a Sim additions rather than a new gameplay system. You can build outfits around the movie's fashion or use individual pieces with clothing you already have.
That's really the appeal of both releases. These aren't large expansions trying to turn The Sims 4 into Mean Girls or Clueless. They're smaller fashion crossovers aimed at people who recognize those looks and want them available when creating Sims.
The Sims has crossed over with plenty of brands over the years, but Mean Girls and Clueless fit Create a Sim particularly well because fashion is such a big part of both movies.
The Sims 4 Mean Girls Capsule Kit and Clueless Capsule Kit are available now. Choosing between them mostly comes down to which closet you want to raid first, North Shore High in the 2000s or Cher Horowitz's Beverly Hills wardrobe in the '90s.
