SHIFT UP has announced that Stellar Blade Complete Edition will be playable by the public for the first time on Nintendo Switch 2 at Tokyo Game Show 2026. Six demo stations will be set up at the SEGA/ATLUS booth in Hall 4, giving attendees their first worldwide public chance to try this version of the game.
The announcement comes just days after SHIFT UP released a new Nintendo Switch 2 trailer and key art. We also learned that Joy-Con 2 motion controls will be supported for activities away from combat. Stellar Blade Complete Edition is still scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 later in 2026.
Six Nintendo Switch 2 Stations Are Coming to Tokyo Game Show
Tokyo Game Show 2026 runs from September 17 through September 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. September 17 and 18 are Business Days, with the show opening to the public from September 19 through September 21.
The Stellar Blade Complete Edition demo will be part of the SEGA Partners area at the SEGA/ATLUS booth, Hall 4/04-N01. SHIFT UP is bringing six Nintendo Switch 2 stations, so there will be more than one setup available for people looking to go hands-on during the public portion of the show.
SEGA is also distributing the physical edition of Stellar Blade Complete Edition in Japan. That arrangement is specific to the Japanese physical release, with SHIFT UP serving as both developer and publisher.
New Trailer Shows More of Stellar Blade on Nintendo Switch 2
Earlier this week, SHIFT UP released another look at Stellar Blade Complete Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside new key art. The Nintendo Switch 2 release retains EVE's combat, character progression, customizable skills, gear, combat builds and boss encounters.
One of the more interesting Nintendo Switch 2 additions is Joy-Con 2 motion-control support. SHIFT UP specifically says those controls are for activities away from combat, so that's where the feature should be kept when talking about how the Nintendo Switch 2 version uses the controllers.
If you're new to Stellar Blade, the sci-fi action game follows EVE, an elite warrior sent to reclaim Earth from mysterious forces. Combat and character progression are a big part of the experience, with skills, gear and different builds available as EVE takes on increasingly dangerous bosses and uncovers what happened to Earth.
SHIFT UP still hasn’t announced a specific launch date for Stellar Blade Complete Edition on Nintendo Switch 2. The release window remains later in 2026.
Kim Hyung Tae Will Take the SEGA/ATLUS Stage
There's more planned for Stellar Blade at Tokyo Game Show beyond the playable demo. SHIFT UP CEO and Stellar Blade creator Kim Hyung Tae will appear on the SEGA/ATLUS stage on Sunday, September 20.
The presentation will be held in Korean with Japanese interpretation. If you can't make it to Chiba, SEGA Japan will also stream the presentation through its official YouTube channel.
The exact stage time hasn't been announced yet. Between the first public Nintendo Switch 2 demo and Kim Hyung Tae's appearance, Tokyo Game Show should provide a much closer look at this version ahead of launch. For now, the release window remains later in 2026.
