RetroCrush is expanding its anime library through a new licensing deal with VIZ Media. Movies and series connected to Naruto, Bleach, Hunter x Hunter, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Hikaru no Go, and several other franchises are coming to the subscription streaming service for the first time.

Cineverse announced the agreement alongside RetroCrush's Anime NYC appearance. The new VIZ Media additions are coming soon, although an exact streaming date has not been announced.

Four Major Anime Movies Lead the Deal

The movie lineup includes Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon R Movie, Bleach: Hell Verse, and Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rouge.

That's a recognizable group for one licensing agreement, especially for a service built around older and classic anime.

These will be RetroCrush's first acquisitions from those franchises. The deal isn't adding more episodes from something already in its library. It's bringing several well-known VIZ Media properties into RetroCrush at once.

RetroCrush Is Also Adding Five Anime Series

The agreement extends beyond movies.

Hikaru no Go, Accel World, Captain Tsubasa, Captain Tsubasa: Junior Youth Arc, and Vampire Knight are also included in the incoming lineup.

There's quite a bit of variety within that group. Hikaru no Go revolves around the board game Go and the relationship between Hikaru Shindo and the spirit of an ancient master. Captain Tsubasa brings football into the mix, Vampire Knight moves into supernatural drama, and Accel World heads toward virtual worlds and science fiction.

That variety fits RetroCrush better than simply loading the service with several movies from one franchise.

RetroCrush currently offers more than 200 series and films and specializes in anime from earlier eras alongside established favourites. It can be accessed through its standalone service and several partner platforms.

The VIZ Media additions are coming to the RetroCrush SVOD app, with an exact launch date still to be announced.

So Naruto, Bleach, Sailor Moon, Hunter x Hunter, and the rest aren't ready to watch through this deal quite yet. The licensing agreement is in place, and the next detail to watch for is when RetroCrush puts an actual streaming date on the new VIZ Media lineup.
