Petit Planet will launch globally in Winter 2026 on PC, iOS and Android, HoYoverse announced during gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live. The release window arrived with a new trailer, and pre-registration is now open.
Petit Planet is HoYoverse's cosy galactic life simulation game, built around developing a planet as a Planet Tender. The new gamescom trailer shows fishing, crops growing with the changing seasons and Starsea exploration. It also shows Neighbors and the Galactic Bazaar as the game moves closer to launch.
Petit Planet Heads Toward Its Winter Launch
Petit Planet is confirmed for PC, iOS and Android with seamless cross-platform support. Pre-registration is available through the Apple App Store, Google Play and Epic Games Store.
As a Planet Tender, you gather resources, craft furniture and shape the land around your home. Farming, fishing and decorating remain central to that routine. Starsea Voyages let you leave your planet to explore Islets and gather more resources.
Neighbors remain part of that progression too. They can join everyday activities and travel with you, while the Galactic Bazaar provides a shared social space. Those pieces connect the home-building side of Petit Planet with exploration beyond your own planet.
Our Stardrift Test Showed the Planet Tender Loop
4ScarrsGaming first covered Petit Planet in April when HoYoverse opened sign-ups for the Stardrift Test. I went hands-on with it the following month and got an early look at the farming, fishing, building and Planet Tender progression.
I found the farming, fishing and building loop engaging. Planet Tender progression gave those activities a larger purpose by tying them to restoring and developing the planet. Neighbors contributed to that progression, while Starsea Voyages opened up exploration with companions. The Galactic Bazaar added a social side to the experience.
What stood out to me was how Petit Planet used planetary revitalization to separate itself from the obvious Animal Crossing comparisons. With a Winter 2026 launch window now set, Petit Planet is moving from testing toward its full global release.
Final Beta Test Starts September 20
Later on August 25, HoYoverse opened sign-ups for Petit Planet's Final Beta Test. The test begins September 20, giving the studio another testing period before the Winter 2026 launch.
Pre-registration for the full game remains open at the same time. HoYoverse hasn't announced an exact launch date beyond Winter 2026. PC, iOS and Android are now the confirmed launch platforms.
Petit Planet now has a final pre-launch test on the calendar and a global release window for later this year. After the Stardrift Test, the move toward a confirmed Winter launch is the bigger change for anyone waiting for the finished game.
