Rockstar Games and Netflix have announced that Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 3 p.m. ET. Netflix members will have six hours of early access before the presentation reaches the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI website at 9 p.m. ET.
The Netflix premiere is a timed exclusive rather than the only way to watch. Anyone without a Netflix subscription can view the extended look through Rockstar’s public channels later that evening.
The Extended Look Remains Under Wraps
Rockstar has not confirmed the presentation’s runtime or described it as a gameplay trailer. The official name is Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, and its exact contents remain unconfirmed.
Rockstar Takes GTA VI Marketing to Netflix
Premiering a GTA VI presentation on Netflix six hours before its public release is an unusual distribution choice. Netflix and Rockstar describe it as a first-of-its-kind partnership between the companies.
It is a strange place to debut a major game presentation, but the short window means anyone without Netflix can still watch it on the same evening.
The extended look is also the next confirmed step in the game’s summer marketing campaign. Earlier this year, Take-Two Interactive said Grand Theft Auto VI marketing would begin during the summer, and the August 27 presentation gives that rollout another firm date.
Grand Theft Auto VI Launches November 19
Grand Theft Auto VI follows Jason and Lucia after an attempted score pulls them into a criminal conspiracy across Leonida. The game launches on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S.
Netflix members can watch Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look at 3 p.m. ET on August 27. The public release follows at 9 p.m. ET through Rockstar’s YouTube channel and the official Grand Theft Auto VI website.
