Blaze Entertainment, the company behind Evercade, has announced The DOOM Collection, bringing DOOM, DOOM II and six classic campaign expansions together on one physical cartridge on October 30, 2026. The collection also adds widescreen support, new gameplay modifiers, expanded local multiplayer and other features created specifically for Evercade.
The DOOM Collection will cost $34.99 CAD / $29.99 USD, with Canadian preorders already open through VGP. Blaze is also releasing a Limited Edition Evercade Nexus DOOM Edition, with only 3,000 units available worldwide and a collection of DOOM-themed extras packed alongside the handheld.
DOOM And DOOM II Get Native Evercade Versions
DOOM and DOOM II have been ported from their PC versions as native Evercade releases. The cartridge also includes TNT: Evilution, The Plutonia Experiment, Master Levels for DOOM II, No Rest for the Living, SIGIL and SIGIL II.
The DOOM: Deathmatch Pack rounds out the package with maps created specifically for local competitive multiplayer. Altogether, the cartridge contains eight classic campaigns alongside the additional multiplayer maps.
Presentation options include full widescreen support, high-resolution visuals, smooth frame rates and three soundtrack mixes. Retro scanline effects and control layouts tailored to different Evercade hardware are included as well.
It's good to see Blaze doing more here than simply putting the classic games onto a cartridge. The native versions and added options should make the collection feel more at home across Evercade's current hardware.
New Modifiers And Multiplayer Expand The Collection
The Evercade versions also introduce several gameplay modifiers that change how the classic DOOM campaigns can be played.
Among the options are Turbo Monsters, Double Monsters, Vampire Mode, Explosive Deaths, Revenge Barrels and No Monsters. It's a much broader set of ways to change the classic campaigns than simply adjusting the standard difficulty settings.
Blaze has expanded the violence settings too, including options called Shotgun Close Encounters and Chainsaw Massacre for even more exaggerated combat effects.
Local multiplayer goes beyond the familiar Deathmatch and cooperative modes. Chaosmatch, Instagib and Tag are being added specifically for this Evercade release, giving the multiplayer side of the collection considerably more attention than a straightforward classic rerelease would have received.
The DOOM Collection will be Evercade Home Computer Cartridge #11. In a fitting touch, the cartridge itself will be red rather than using the usual colour of Evercade's blue home computer range.
Evercade Nexus DOOM Edition Is Limited To 3,000 Units
Blaze is pairing the cartridge announcement with a Limited Edition Evercade Nexus DOOM Edition, available exclusively through Funstock.
Only 3,000 units will be produced worldwide. The package includes a DOOM-themed Evercade Nexus, exclusive packaging and a special big-box version of The DOOM Collection.
It also comes with a DOOM hard shell carry case, DOOM comic, commemorative keyring, double-sided poster and numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
The Evercade Nexus DOOM Edition launches October 30 alongside the standard cartridge. It is priced at $249.99 USD, £199.99 or €239.99. Preorders opened August 7 exclusively through Funstock.
VGP Opens Canadian Preorders
Canadian Evercade fans can already preorder the standalone DOOM Collection through Video Games Plus for $34.99 CAD. VGP lists the cartridge for release on October 30, 2026.
VGP also has a bundle containing both The DOOM Collection and the Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack for $69.99 CAD. That gives anyone interested in both of Evercade's October 30 cartridge releases an option to preorder them together.
The DOOM Collection looks like a particularly substantial Evercade release, especially with the native DOOM and DOOM II versions, added modifiers and expanded multiplayer. Combined with the limited Nexus DOOM Edition, October 30 is shaping up to be a busy day for Evercade collectors.
