Nintendo of Canada Brings Nintendo Switch 2 Demos to Select Cineplex Theatres for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Nintendo of Canada is bringing a hands-on Nintendo Switch 2 event to select Cineplex theatres across British Columbia and Ontario to tie in with the theatrical arrival of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on April 1, 2026.
Nintendo Switch 2 Demos Arrive at Select Cineplex Theatres
From March 6 to 8, and again on April 3 and 4, Nintendo will have booths set up at participating Cineplex locations where attendees can try select single-player and multiplayer games on Nintendo Switch 2. The promotion lines up directly with the movie’s release window and gives fans a chance to try the new hardware before or after a screening.
The event hours vary by day. On Friday, March 6, the booth will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. On Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8, it will run from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. On Friday, April 3, the booth will again be open from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, April 4, it will run from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. All times are local.
Five Locations Are Confirmed
The participating locations include Cineplex Cinemas Langley in Langley, SilverCity Riverport Cinemas in Richmond, Cineplex Cinemas Mississauga Square One in Mississauga, Cineplex Cinemas Queensway and VIP in Etobicoke, and Cineplex Cinemas Vaughan in Vaughan. That gives Nintendo a small but useful event presence across western Canada and the Greater Toronto Area.
This theatre tie-in fits naturally with Nintendo’s current Mario push. With Mario tied to one of the company’s biggest entertainment releases of the year, putting Nintendo Switch 2 demo stations inside Cineplex locations connects the movie rollout with the games in a direct way. It also keeps Mario visible during a stretch that already lines up with Mar10 Day, and the start of the film’s theatrical run.
For now, these five locations are the confirmed stops for the Cineplex promotion.
