HoYoverse has announced that Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.1, Unraveled for Daybreak, launches on March 25, 2026. The update continues the Planarcadia story as the Astral Express Crew is pulled into Star Rail FEST while the Phantasmoon Games keep escalating and the War of the Supplicants moves closer to open conflict.
Version 4.1 also adds Ashveil as a new limited 5-star character and brings back Hyacine and Boothill through the version’s Warp schedule. It also adds the next story chapter, a new activity, and another round of login rewards after the start of the Planarcadia arc in Version 4.0.
Star Rail FEST Pushes the Story Deeper Into Planarcadia
The next chapter picks up after the Trailblazer earns a mask to enter the Phantasmoon Games and defeats streamer Sparxie. That pushes the Astral Express into a much bigger role in Planarcadia’s public story.
That leads into Star Rail FEST, a large expo organized by Pearl and the Astral Express Crew around the journey the crew has taken across the galaxy.
The event includes three major open zones based on Belobog, Xianzhou Luofu, and Penacony. It also opens Pearluxe Tower, the headquarters of Pearluxe Corp, as a new area to explore. The festival may be the public face of the update, but the wider conflict in Planarcadia is still moving underneath it.
Ashveil Becomes the New 5-Star in Version 4.1
The biggest character addition this time is Ashveil, a 5-star Lightning character on The Hunt path. He joins the playable lineup as the story continues his investigation into the murder case in Dovebrook District.
In battle, Ashveil centres his kit around marking one enemy as Bait. While that target stays on the field, he can raise allies’ CRIT DMG and lower enemy DEF. He can also trigger follow-up attacks when teammates hit the marked enemy and build Gluttony to strengthen those attacks.
Ashveil will be available for the full Version 4.1 Warp period rather than only one half of the update.

Hyacine and Boothill Return Across Both Banner Halves
Alongside Ashveil, Version 4.1 also brings back two limited 5-star characters across its two banner phases. Hyacine appears in the first half of the update, while Boothill returns in the second half.
That gives the banner schedule a straightforward split. Ashveil stays available across the full version, while Hyacine and Boothill return in the first and second halves of the update.
Wispae War Saga Adds Another Activity to the Patch
Version 4.1 also introduces Wispae War Saga, a new activity set in Graphia Academy. In it, the Trailblazer leads different wispae soldiers into battle and works through matches by upgrading units and using spell cards and capsules with different effects.
You’ll first take on challengers inside the academy before harder outsider matches open later on. That adds another activity outside the main story and Warp cycle.
Free Rewards and Divergent Universe Updates Return Too
HoYoverse is also bringing back the usual patch-start incentives in Version 4.1. You’ll be able to claim 10 free Warps just by logging in after the update goes live.
Beyond that, Divergent Universe moves into a new Arcadian Chronicles phase. You’ll be able to choose areas with Waypoint Pass cards and upgrade A Mask of Elation for added rewards. Planar Fissure and Garden of Plenty will also return during the version, giving you another chance to stock up on ornaments and upgrade materials.
This version sets up the next stage of Planarcadia while giving you a new 5-star, a new activity, and the usual patch rewards at the same time.
