The Super Mario Galaxy Movie hits theatres on April 1st. Nintendo and Illumination have started rolling out a full set of character posters, each one giving you a better look at the worlds, cast, and deep-cut cameos packed into this take on the Mario universe.

Every poster has at least one detail that’s easy to miss if you only saw it in passing on social media. Some pull from Super Mario Odyssey, some point directly back to Galaxy, and others mash different eras together in a way that fits the series perfectly.

If you’ve been trying to track them across different accounts, this pulls everything into one place. You can flip through each poster below, look for the small touches, and start guessing what kind of scenes we’re going to get in Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie character posters so far

Bowser

Bowser’s poster is pure “final world” energy. He’s front and centre with two axes raised, standing on a lava-soaked drawbridge while a ferris wheel with Boo faces turns in the background. Paratroopas circle the scene, and the whole area feels like a warped carnival built entirely around him.

Higher up in the sky, there’s a huge UFO-style shape shining a spotlight down on the chaos. It suggests Bowser isn’t just relying on lava castles this time. The whole setup sells the idea that his plan is bigger, louder, and even more over the top than what we saw in the last Super Mario movie.

Peach and Toad

Peach and Toad share one of the most crowded posters in the group. Peach stands confidently with a travel kit at her side while Toad looks ready to follow along. Around them you can pick out the penguins from the first movie, Galaxy’s Star Bunnies, a Pianta from Super Mario Sunshine, a Conkdor, and Whittles from Super Mario Galaxy 2.

In the distance, rockets blast off toward a spiral-shaped planet that looks like it’s wrapped in clouds. It makes it look like Peach and Toad are helping to send more than just Mario into space. The scene comes across as a meeting point for multiple worlds, with these two doing their best to keep everything moving in the right direction.

Yoshi, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi

This one is going to hit anyone who grew up on Yoshi’s Island right in the memories. Yoshi is front and centre carrying Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, racing along a bridge made of bones while a roaring T. rex chases them from behind. Off in the sky, a jungle-covered planet hangs above the cliffside with waterfalls spilling down its edge.

Seeing the babies together with Yoshi calls straight back to the protect-the-passenger style of those older games. Mixing that with Odyssey’s prehistoric flavour suggests Super Mario Galaxy Movie will jump between different eras instead of visiting one version of each world and then moving on.

Rosalina

Rosalina’s poster goes in a calmer direction and it really works. She’s standing in what looks like a library or study, wand outstretched, while Lumas in every colour float around her. Shelves full of books line the left side of the image, grounding her in a quieter, more personal space before your eyes drift out toward the stars.

Beyond the window, the Comet Observatory stretches across the sky with starships trailing light behind it. There’s a cute Baby Luma close to her that underlines the protective side fans know from the Galaxy games. If you’ve been waiting to see how Super Mario Galaxy Movie handles the more emotional parts of Galaxy, this is the first solid hint that it’s actually going to explore that side of the story.

Luigi

Luigi’s poster is all about being scared and still moving forward anyway. He’s mid-air after launching off a dirt bike, clutching his cap with a panicked look as a massive inverted pyramid towers behind him. Below, the streets of Tostarena from Super Mario Odyssey are packed with skeleton residents in sombreros, watching the whole mess unfold.

It’s a strong fit for him. The image suggests his role will mix nervous humour with a few genuine scares, similar to what you get in Luigi’s Mansion. If you like Luigi as the guy who jumps at every shadow but still gets the job done, this poster nails that version of him.

Bowser Jr.

Bowser Jr.’s art sells him as walking trouble. He’s tucked inside a towering paint-covered monster suit with a jagged neon mouth, standing on a ship’s rigging while bright purple and green paint spills across the scene. A giant eel-like Piranha Plant bursts out of the paint below him, snapping at anything in reach.

In the background, a Bowser Jr.-shaped planet floats among airships, complete with glowing horns and a shell pattern across its surface. It gives the impression that he has his own wild project running alongside Bowser’s, and he might cause just as many problems for his own side as he does for Mario.

Mario

Mario’s poster comes across like the cover image for Super Mario Galaxy Movie. He’s mid-spin above a sea of pink clouds, leaving a bright trail behind his fist as star-like streaks cut across the sky. Far in the distance, a floating planet with Peach’s castle on top sits at the edge of the galaxy.

If you look around him, you’ll catch a strong mix of familiar faces: Lakitu hovering nearby with a camera, a Spiny drifting through the air, a Piranha Plant rising out of the clouds, and Sledge Bro reaching up from below. The whole image gives off the sense that this Mario has already seen some wild stuff and is ready to dive into whatever this new adventure throws at him.

This lineup shows how Super Mario Galaxy Movie pulls pieces from across the series instead of sticking to one era.

Which poster grabs you the most, and what’s the first scene you want to see built around it when Super Mario Galaxy Movie hits theatres?
