Hasbro has announced a new licensing partnership with Amazon MGM Studios to produce action figures, toys, and roleplay items tied to the studio’s upcoming live-action Voltron movie.

The collaboration will see Hasbro develop merchandise inspired by the film, drawing on the company’s long-standing experience working with licensed entertainment properties and legacy franchises.

Expanding Voltron Beyond the Screen

According to Hasbro, the partnership is intended to extend Voltron’s presence beyond the film itself, supporting the franchise through toys and collectibles aimed at both longtime fans and new audiences. Voltron’s roots as an iconic 1980s property place it squarely within Hasbro’s broader portfolio of legacy brands.

Hasbro President of Toy, Licensing, and Entertainment Tim Kilpin said the franchise’s history aligns closely with the company’s approach to licensed properties, positioning the collaboration as a way to support the brand’s longevity alongside the upcoming film.

Film Details and Creative Team

The live-action Voltron movie is being directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, who also developed the story and co-wrote the screenplay with Ellen Shanman.

The cast includes Henry Cavill, Sterling K. Brown, Alba Baptista, and Rita Ora, among others.

Producers on the project include Todd Lieberman through Hidden Pictures, Bob Koplar, Rawson Marshall Thurber, and David Hoberman of Hobie Films. Hasbro has not yet shared details on specific product lines, release timing, or retail availability for the Voltron toys.
