| The ’Burbs stars Keke Palmer and Jack Whitehall in a new mystery comedy series coming to STACKTV and W Network. |
W Network and STACKTV are adding a new comedy series to their winter lineup, with The ’Burbs set to arrive in Canada next month. The full eight-episode season will be available to stream on STACKTV beginning Sunday, February 8, ahead of its broadcast premiere on Thursday, February 12 on W Network.
The series stars Keke Palmer and Jack Whitehall and is inspired by the 1989 horror-comedy film of the same name. While the new version updates the setting for modern suburbia, it keeps the mix of mystery and dark comedy that made the original a cult favourite.
A New Take on Suburban Suspicion
The ’Burbs follows a young couple who reluctantly move into the husband’s childhood home, only to find their quiet neighbourhood hiding more than a few secrets. When a new neighbour arrives across the street, long-buried tensions begin to surface, setting off a chain of events that pulls the entire cul-de-sac into chaos.
Alongside Palmer and Whitehall, the cast includes Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch, and Kapil Talwalkar. The series blends comedy with mystery, exploring the strange dynamics that can develop behind closed doors in otherwise ordinary communities.
The show is created by Celeste Hughey, who also serves as writer and executive producer. She is joined by Rachel Shukert, with Keke Palmer, Seth MacFarlane, Erica Huggins, Aimee Carlson, Brian Grazer, Kristen Zolner, Natalie Berkus, and Nzingha Stewart serving as executive producers. Stewart also directs episodes of the series.
When and Where to Watch The ’Burbs
All eight episodes of The ’Burbs will be available to stream beginning Sunday, February 8 on STACKTV. The series will then make its broadcast debut on Thursday, February 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on W Network, with two episodes airing weekly for the first two weeks, followed by weekly releases.
STACKTV is available through Amazon Prime Video, the Bell Fibe TV app, Fubo, and Rogers Ignite TV and Ignite Streaming.
Ted Returns for Season 2 in March
Alongside The ’Burbs, W Network and STACKTV have also confirmed the return of Ted for its second season. The comedic prequel series, created by Seth MacFarlane, returns on Thursday, March 5 at 9 p.m. ET on Showcase, with streaming available on STACKTV.
Set in the 1990s, Ted follows the foul-mouthed teddy bear and his teenage best friend John Bennett as they navigate high school life in working-class Boston. The series stars Seth MacFarlane, Max Burkholder, Scott Grimes, Alanna Ubach, and Giorgia Whigham.
A Busy Winter for STACKTV and Showcase
With The ’Burbs arriving in February and Ted returning in March, STACKTV and W Network continue to build out their winter lineup with a mix of comedy, mystery, and returning favourites.
Other recent additions include The Copenhagen Test, PONIES, and Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy, rounding out a schedule that leans heavily into scripted drama, comedy, and true-crime programming.
